Why make your first and only post at bedtime, then go away?

Buy it, and ask others for advice at three in the morning.

Thanks ric for your useful reply.

Not sure what planet the other two of you are on, my questions are genuine, I can get the car for that price, if you don't believe me that's your problem and yes I'm interested to know about remapping the car even if it won't be done for a couple of years, as for the helpful post about going to bed, I have a life outside the internet and don't generally wait an hour staring at the screen just on the off chance someone might post something.

Sorry I don't want to come across as a **** but trolls are something I was hoping to leave behind with the subaru scene.:(

I switched from a Scoob to a vRS, via an awful Corsa :thumbdwn: , and I'm more than happy with my choice. I was on track against loads of Scoobs recently at the WYIOC (West Yorks Impreza OC) trackday at Blyton Park, and was keeping up with nearly all of them. Only a coupleof the better drivers and higher tuned cars bothered me, and I returned 40mpg on track and over 60 en-route  I paid 9.2k for a 2.5k mile black ex-demo. No options, but IDGAF about bling as it's a driving school car for me. Fitted the Jabba rear ARB straight away and am considering a remap myself. When I find the time I'm gonna speak to some tuners about the possibility of a custom map written over my standard map to lower the power and increase mpg for the learners, but have a balls out one-click job for my personal useage :D

Not had a performance car like an empreza before but from testimonials of other people who have they would not go back. Apparently there is a bit of diappointment with the handling side of things (Can be fixed by lowering on Eibach springs and adding a ARB) all are suprised with the speed and pull of a re-mapped VRS at 30 50 and 70mph. Plus the econemy is amazing returning 44MPG average in mine on mixed run and i am no old women sunday driver!

Mine is re-mapped by Revo and the power delivery is smooth and consistent, other popular re-maps are Jabba sport. For me the car does need a re-map. I have a feeling a re-map does not effect the warranty as mine was re-mapped by previous owner in warranty period. Check with SKoda though.

Hope this helps

Ps other posters were very unhelpful!!! no need at all...

Sorry if that offended, but....

A lot of us on here have a sense of humour, unlike on a lot of other fora, and we are generally troll free.

It'a cracking price, and well done:thumbup:

your original post may have got lost, in the depths of other posts, and may never have illicited another reply, sarcastic or not, so consider this a free bump, and welcome to Briskoda, in a roundabout sort of way.

Good move from scooby to VRS, my dad went from S3 to VRS, just as quick in real world, better looking but the seats were better in S3...

I have an Ibiza 130 (+) :) and can run circles round him and other bigger, sportier cars, it's down to driver ability.

I also watched the mini vs VRS last night, hilarious every time!

Handling wise, does the Jabba RARB really help, i'm after one...

from what ive read, the jabba arb is a must. the fabia deffinatly needs it, the handling is the only thing that lets it down.

There is a revo specialist in bradley stoke. so if you want a remap done they might b worth a try.

some of the site sponsors do remaps aswell. dont think many of them are local though.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate your help.

Corradoboy thanks for posting those photos, blacks definitely the colour for me, looks great.

I know it's not going to handle like an impreza, but it won't suck all my wages through the engine when I start it up, the though of being able to get more than 200 miles out of a

Will have to look into the jabba arb and revo, knowing me I won't be able to wait until the warranty runs out, but it seems some dealers may be more bothered about this than others.

I'd probably look into a custom map, rather than something off the shelf like Revo as then it can be tailored to your needs (and may help save wear and tear on the original fragile clutch!). Have a look at the likes of Jabbasport, Impossible Performance, Awesome-GTI, JBS, etc and decide which one is best for you :D ARB is pretty discrete so it may well go unnoticed during servicing, but as with everything, it'll be a gamble whether your warranty remains in tact!

Worth also looking at the 312mm brake upgrade and Eibach springs and dampers (or Koni FSD if you're feeling flush!) to try and improve the stopping and reduce the pitchiing and diving under acceleration and braking. You may also want to do a search on here for "pikey" mods too :D

Chris

No problem fella:D

Regarding mods and warranty, I think an awful lot depends on your dealer. and how he looks at things.

My local one is ok to a point, but then again, some are dreadful, where are you?

I'm in Bristol, there seem to be plenty of dealers in or around here so I may get lucky and find one who will turn a blind eye

i'm sure there are a few of us about that are around the brizzle area.

Put up a post asking, about local dealers, or even decent independants, someone should help you.

Hey welcome to Briskoda! Just a quick question , is your Fabia vRS going to be new/unregistered? That sounds like a great price if it is!

It is new and unregistered, I know this chap buys loads of cars for fleet sales, not quite sure how he does them so cheaply but my sister bought one off him a few months ago and he got a octavia vrs for my brother in law about 12 months ago at an unbelievable price. He is a friend of my brother in laws dad so it may be so cheap as I'm getting a "family" discount, not sure.

Just need to get a price off him for my car in part ex which he'll hopefully do Monday, but at that price I'm willing to be more flexible on mine.

Going to have to eat humble pie when I do get it, I've been taking the mickey out of my sister and her husband for being a two skip family. :D

Welcome to Briskoda :):)

Saw you posting about this in Scoobynet..

At that price and with these specs I'd snap it up pronto! :D:D:D

Welcome :wavey:

As far as warranty is concerned, SUK will invalidate any warranty, if the car is remapped ( & they find out) as members on here have found out.

Also as previouslt stated, some dealers do not like any mods during the 3 yr warrranty period ( Speak to dealer ).

Otherwise all has already been said.

Hi

I've just (a month ago) gone from a Honda Accord Type R to a Fabia vRS and to be honest there isn't as much in it as you think.

Yes, the Honda is better built and handles quite a lot better (LSD, better brakes) but I averaged 32mpg on V-Power driving sensibly, whereas on normal diesel I am getting 50mpg.

The Fabia does not handle as well and is older in design but it costs me 49% of the running costs of the Honda and there is zero chance any anyone keying it or pinching it etc which is always a problem with a performance car.

So I'd get the vRS and do the usual mods after 6-12 months or so (Milltek exhaust, Eibach springs/dampers, Forge intercooler, PD160 air intake, Pipercross air filter, uprated clutch, custom remap at Jabba/Custom Code/RevoTechnik) and you will still get 45mpg but will probably have 2/3 of the fun of your Impreza.

2/3 of the fun but 1/2 the cost!

Bargain!

That is cheap for an unregistered car. I feel seen off!!

I had a blue X reg UK Scooby as a second car with my VRS last year because I always wanted one, I wasnt keen on its plasticy rattly interior and really poor fuel consumption. It was no faster in the real world than my remapped VRS (unless it rained then it left it for dead)

So I sold it after 3 months.
