IIRC didn't you have a Honda CTR? If so the engine charateristic are very different and the Octy's performance is quite deceptive. A mapped RS will be very competative to a Scooby from 50mph upwards, I'm led to believe.

Mike... a few mods will cure your yearning... and make you forget all about running it in.. tbh they dont loosen fully till 10k miles but a remap will take you along way down that road.

tbh i was out in my brothers CTR on saturday and yes it is marginally quicker than the vRS but it wasnt as fast as i thought it would be.

Ride is to harsh IMO and it handled the high winds on the M40 shockingly, give me my vRS over it any day !

I wouldnt say the vRS is a "gay" car, its a fast car but puts the speed on in a more subtle way than say a CTR which is much more point squirt and hold on from what i saw saturday, at the end of the day its a car focused to a totally different market, more sports saloon / executive than hot hatch, to be honest if you wanted something just like the CTR you should have gone to Seat and bought a Leon cupra r.

Just get the damn thing re-mapped and stop complaining :P

Just ask the TT Driver who thought he was being clever on the A1 on saturday...i bet he never expected a mere Skoda to make him look such a tuuat
