Hey from Cumbria

Featured Replies

Just a quick hello having become the proud owner of a Fabia vRS. Having been a sceptic at first, I am now definitely a convert! Will look out for window stickers as I fly around the roads of the lakes.

Cheers mate...am in Broughton-in-Furness. It's south Lakes. At this end of Cumbria, we're more normal than those in the north of the county :D:D We've got wicked roads up here (especially in the winter when there's no tourists)

easy... I'm in the North lakes! lol... welcome to Briskoda....

I helped with the meet last year, check out the national meets, I'm trying to organise a beer weeking for July August time!

Welcome to the site , enjoy the vRS!

I'm north cumbria too cheeky, and i know what you mean about the roads down there, i always go that way to get to the motorway if i'm going darn sarf!! Corney fell is a cool drive and the short cut through broughton square is a winner.

I used to work for a company that had an office in Broughton-in-Furness, so Corney Fell was a common drive for me, as I lived up in High Harrington at the time!

Main thing is to make sure you avoid the Sellafield traffic times... I remember once I was coming back from Broughton around half 4, and the BNFL traffic was all coming the other way - that was a nightmare! Funny thing was there was a german car full of tourists amongst them... it stopped in a passing place to let me up a hill, but all the Sellafield traffic that had been behind it just overtook it and kept coming! German car was stuck and so was I lol.... we exchanged a bemused shrug once the traffic cleared and I eventually made it up the hill!

Oh - and if I'm not an Ex-Cumbrian..... what else should you call someone who was born in Cumbria but moved away? ;)

(that's a rhetorical question by the way, I don't want any answers, sarcastic or otherwise :P )
