New Mondeo

Featured Replies

Spotted my first new mondeo in Sunderland today, after all the body kitted, big alloyed press ones a beige one with little wheels looked decidedly ordinary.

Hopefully the ST model will look a bit more exciting!

we've already got a dead one in the workshop , so more quality control problems for Ford

We had one in at work the other day, I like the look of it.

Ah, the one Ford says won't be hit by poor risiduals because they won't discount, but already you can get a discount. What?

It is a mainstream family car, it will suffer whatever you do. Nice secondhand bargain though, if the quality from the roadtest reports is true...

actually quite like the new styling, but you'd blatently want a spec'd up Titanium X with the 2.5 I5 :D

Anyone else think the rear of this looks a bit laguna?

I've seen a couple now and the one with the spoiler and hanging trade plate I thought was a laguna until I passed it.

and skoda are that much better?

like that 3000mile engine that just blew up in a TD vRS :)

I must be honest here - not seen a new one in the flesh yet, however if I were to buy a Mondy I'd buy an ST 2.2 TDCI that looks stunning and can easily be bought for under

Hmmm so is the new model ST 2.2TDCI really worth

i thought it was the opposite chris, the only ones available were the 2.5T or the big diesel with the normal ones coming later. goes off to look.........

wrong again, you can get a 1.6 upto 2.5T in petrol and a 1.8 or 2.0 TDi :)

2.5T ghia X titamium looks spangly and doesn't hang about either :)

216bhp and 242lbft :)

Still your talking about a

Have to say Welshy, I agree.

I love the look of the New Mondeo. May consider one as a lease car from work when the Passat dies. :)

Saw one this morning. It was nice but not a real head turner.

I thought the rear had more than a little bit of Mazda 6 about it. Not surprising with the family connections.

Just done a national search on Autotrader max 5 years old diesel Mondy.

The first few pages are full of sub

but what Value for money.

Certainly are and in Ghia X guise you get a fully loaded one

Chris

Looking again the estates are similar money too.

They are cheaper & newer than the equivalent Passat - as to which is better well?

Neither are going to set the world on fire with performance and both have similar economy. Handling supposedly the Modny is the best in the mid class but the prestige of the Passat & perceived quality pushes it up higher IMHO.

I think the ST Mondy TDCI is nicer than any version of the Passat but the Passat 130TDI SE does the job very well.

The best bit of all is all these cars (excl ST) are available for under

this one had just come off the train from the factory , so no miles

I didn't know they were actually out yet - will have to keep an eye out. I do like the look of them.

I see some Laguna at the rear too. And even a bit of Citroen C5/6 at the rear 3/4 view?

I see a pug 407sw in it espciallly from the front and side. they have 1 in Dixon Ford in Sheffield, cant say I'm impressed with them, if I had to buy a ford I think it would have to be the previous shape.

Good aren't they? Have you ever driven one old chap? Lovely and comfy those Ghia X models
