Enjoy the Lakes, they will be great today, of course read this when you get back tonight, after you've washed it.

First impressions are excellent :D Took her into my local ICE specialist (has done my last 4 cars). He reckoned the Head Unit wasn't that bad and should be left alone, solution is new Pioneer (my choice, he said Infinity were just as good so well done those of you who have got them!) speakers, straight swap replacements for the fronts and big parcel shelf jobs to replace the rears (due to lack of space in orginal fittings).

The thought of Parcel shelf speakers had me cringing 'til he explained that they re-trim the shelf with acoustic cloth so from the top you can't even tell they are there :) Also with mounting them under the parcel shelf they don't get soaked every time you open the hatch :(

Seeing as the speakers will be able to handle way more than the HU can put out he suggested a 'small' amp as there is plenty of room behind the dash for it to sit well out of the way, all removable for if it ever gets sold. Booked in for next Saturday and can't wait as the sound quality of the standard setup is the only thing that has let the car down today.
