Fabia Vrs v Octavia Vrs

Featured Replies

I know that road well its the B road from Bala to Knockin - use it very often so much better than the A5 never any cops but you have to be carefull of any stray sheep or tractors & if an artic is coming the other way well over on your side.

I forget the name of the village (going from Bala to Knockin) its right at the bottom of the valley (with the 4000 + foot vertical drops on one side the pubs there are really good and a great place to go camping.

In Bala if you play golf we found a course which is remarkable the 18th hole is a par 3 yet its tee is I kid you not 1000+ foot above the pin.... and on the 1st its a par 3 aparently, my friend plays off 8/9 and after playing it he said a par 3... total joke you'd really struggle to get only+1 on it.

We noticed that all the club players looked pretty lean and after the 18 holes we had to sit down for a few hours with a few beers as our legs could do no more.

To me,the Octavia vRS felt rather light at high speeds. It was suggested that the standard spoiler doesn't really do much??

Preferred the Fabia vRS on motorways and for long journeys generally.Preferred the OctaviavRS for petrol zapping around.Certainly was the quicker of the two

Octavia looked smarter though;)

On a standard spoiler mine was fine at 160+ just how fast were you going?

I brick it at 70 and my hands go all sweaty.

I'd also say you need to consider comfort. I found the octy way more comfortable than the fabia on long journeys.

Octi vrs and fabia vrs both have their Plus points and Negative points, having lived with both I would rather have the fabia vrs.

The fabia is a much better all round car and is suprisingly quick although doesnt feel it.

IMHO the Octy is a quick car but a bit dull, the Fabia is slower but more fun to drive. Both are decent cars though

Surely it comes down to space - if you need a big boot or carry more than 2 people often then the fabia has to be 2nd choice.

The Octavia is a proper family car so you wouldnt be changing that as soon as you would have to if you had a fabia. I mean how many prams + shopping +toys + bikes can you get in the boot of a fabia... not that much hence it has to come down to what it going to be used for.

Surely if you read the question I do state that i'm not interested in practicality ? I was looking for opinions from a DRIVERS view. By the way, it's going to be used for driving.

if shaun_l is listening (fabia owner) post your opinion of what its like to be a passenger in an octy thats shifting lad.

I am only a PD100 owner though, but the Octy brought these :D x 10 hehe

I had a little low speed blast with an octy yesterday and it seemed very even, I had a slight edge if anything...... Although I can't verify what state of tune it was in or how hard the octy driver was trying, he looked like he was giving it some beans.:D

Was very even with a mk4 1.8t at high speed as well....

But then my car is special. :P
