Cool,

Looking forward to seeing the pics of them on the car.

Doesn't seem a bad price with tyres etc thrown in.

Result.

Cheers

Will it be sitting at standard height with the new ones on ?

  • Author

I just had fsd's fitted and have no plans on lowering it due to where I live thats the other reason im changing wheels to gain an inch and that should close the gap between wheel and arch considerably, I just cannot lower the car right now due to speed humps/my current drive/the wife and kerbs So im hoping they look sweet at standard height, if not I'll lower it SLIGHTLY but im thinking they should look the bussiness as is.

I know nowt about suspension, but do the Koni FSD's reduce the standard height or are they a direct replacement with the same ride height ?

  • Author

same as standard ride height, they are shocks, the springs do the lowering and I have left those as standard, the Koni's are something electromagnetic gobbly **** so in standard talk when you drive normal the ride is only slightly stiffer then standard, but up the pace and they sence this and stiffen up alot thus making it feel more sporty I would say about 80% stiffer then normal at pace and about 10% stiffer then normal at daily pace.

Cheers, dont know much about suspension.

Cant wait to see the new alloys on yours as my vRS is red to.:)

Whats the delivery time you looking at ?

  • Author

48 hours they reckon, its 25 pounds for a direct courier vechle, So fingers crossed if they are in stock they should send them out tomorra to arrive the day after, if they are not in stock then I doubt they can keep their delivery promice and i'll whant me 25 pound back lol!.

They come pumped and balanced rdy to bolt on so thursday my car will be on bricks at work waiting for them :) they better arrive!.

The only thing im thinking is if i may need spacers to stop any rubbing but I guess I'll find that out!, I cant wait as my Superskoda grills, vents and bonnet lifters should be here thursday aswell!

Did you go for the 215/35's or 225/40's.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...intrest free option to, tempting.:D

Thats why the interest free option is so tempting. I'd be slaughtered otherwise.:(

Sorry, but I dont think you'll gain an inch as the 18"s with 225/40/18's are the rolling same size as the standard 205/50/17's that your taking off.

Go to freedom and use the tyre size calculator, and it should confirm it, also there was a guy on SeatCupra.net selling a set of these.

Much that it pains me! ;) Gerry is right. Fitting 18's will only lower the profile of your tyres although I believe the 17's are fitted with 205/45/17 tyres.

Loads of information on wheels & tyres calculator here including a wheel/tyre calculator just over half way down the page.

Much as it pleases me;) The standard Mk1 Octy vRS is fitted with 50 profile tyres, and not 45 profile.:D :D :D

Steve, the only time they go to 45 profile is when we fit 225/45/17, as most of us have done.

I stand corrected :o

I found a set I like I think and am looking for feedback what do you think?

Personally I don't like them. I think the black gets lost behind the chrome finish silver which is much more noticeable, the downside to this is the spokes are too thin and make the wheels look a bit puny. I think the Octavia needs something more beefy.

Fuel do some nice wheels though.

Have the wheels arrived ?

  • Author

out of stock lol, they assured me they will arrive tuesday however they are refunding my 25 pounds in delivery cost's so very honest/decent service.

Those 18's ?
