Retrofit Front Fogs

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if it's possible to retrofit the Front fogs on a 2.0 TDi? i.e. is it sinply a case of popping out the blanking plates and swapping the light switch, or are the wiring looms not present at all?

I'd be surprised if the wiring was in place. You'd also need a new headlight switch.

Thanks Stu, was just a thought as I think the Octi looks better with the light in place. I wondered f it was just a case of a connector to the existing loom someplace but that was wishful thinking on my behalf.

Good luck with the Bluetooth kit, hope it all works out OK.

No problem Martin.

Not looking so good on the BT kit at the moment as it appears to be in the abyss they call Parcel Farce. IMHO they deserve to be put out of business.

Bring back the carrier pigeons, at least they weren't worried about their overtime :-)

Hello, I have had a search but nothing obvious has come to light (no pun intended :o) regarding this so apologies if the answer is out there, but..

Has anybody ever managed to find a definitive answer to this one?

I'd very much like to get front fogs fitted on my 2005 2.0tdi Ambiente but so far I've had no luck at all with either Skoda dealers or VAG specialists, their answers ranging to 'it wasn't an option so, no' to 'We'll call you back'.

Needless to say, nobody did ever call back so I'm sort of stuck.

I know that there'll likely be some computer trickery involved to activate them and a new switch and possibly loom extensions will be required but is there any reason why a dealer or specialist categorically couldn't do this for me?

I'd have a go myself but I'd only end up breaking something and swearing a lot which is not a good thing.

Anyway, any help would be very gratefully received as it's very foggy round our way these days..(!)

Thanks in advance,

David.

I have read on here sometime ago that front fogs are expensive. The switch will need to be replaced and apparently there is no loom just to plug into. Will need to be done from scratch.Maybe worth finding a very good local auto electrician to do it for you and will save you lots of

Hmm - an official installation's not looking too promising then..

Oh well, thanks for the input - maybe I'll hassle the dealers again, try & get some sort of definitive viewpoint.

(not holding breath).

Thanks all,

David.
