6 speed nearly there!!!!

Featured Replies

Finally......

Car is booked in for next Tuesday (26th) at Impossible Performance to have the 6 speed fitted.

I have gone for the aluminium single mass flywheel and Sachs clutch, rather than the Helix jobby...that'll be done when this one goes!

When everything is done and dusted I will put a post up giving all the part numbers etc. you need for the stupid little brackets, cable supports, hydraulic lines etc. so if anyone else ever decides to fit one all the small fiddly part numbers will be there ready!

I'm still waiting for the peloquin diff so that will be fitted (this'll be no problem once the initial conversion has taken place) at a later date....providing the (diesel) gearbox is ok!......

If not at least it’ll be a straight swap for any shorter ratio petrol 02M 6 speed.

The joy of owning a fast car.........

I'm thinking of swapping my Ali SMF for a DMF as I'm fed up of the noise it causes on the 6spd box. I'll be interested to see what you think, however I have lived with it for a year before deciding I don't like it enough to consider removing it.

I remember reading that going too light with the SMF wasn't good - that's why I chose a Steel SMF over an Aluminium one.

Good luck mate!

This sounds pretty interesting and a nice spec engine by the way!

Can I ask isit FWD or 4WD? If it's FWD what is it like getting the power down in the dry?
