Shave the seats?

Featured Replies

I have waded through the search for this, but everyone mentions warranty.

The edges of my seats are starting to fray:mad: . Other than replace the inside or get seat covers, is there anything I can do. I was thinking about very carefully taking a razor across the top to shave the 'bobbles' off. A little hesitant though as not sure if will compromise the strength of the tread.

I've done this on our dining chairs many times over the years. Once the fibres have frayed off, they aren't contributing to the strength anyway.

JML do a bobble shaver specifically for this.

But as Nick says if it's a bobble it isn't adding to the strength.

If you are under warrenty however I would leave it and let the problem get bad enough that the dealer will agree a problem.
