Problems.

Featured Replies

Dear all had a few problems with the Vrs recently. Took the car into a main dealer in Leeds to have a broken drivers armrest and new seat base fitted under warranty. Took the car in the day that they said and part had not arrived. Ok nect visit left the car and had a Octavia lease car for the day. Returned to pick the car up and the drivers seat was filthy from the mechanics grubby mits but worse the idiot who took out the seat has dropped it on the door sill causing two massive scratches off which he denied all knowledge of and scratching the plastic trim on the door.

After nearly blowing a gasket the area manager agreed to the damage being rectified and the car fully valeted. After retuning from my holiday the car is sat wiating for me in the drive fully valeted and look as good as new.

Two problems the drivers seat base is loose as the idiot who fiited the hex nuts to the floor runners has stripped the thread on both sides which means the seat goes back when braking a forward when driving. Plus one of the alloys has been chipped and the lacquer is damaged and peeling off.

After last nights visit I have been told the seat will have to be removed again the carpets taken up the the bolt threads reground. The alloy will be touched up but they are saying I damaged the door panel.

I am a little lost for words on this as I have done nothing wrong and a simple warranty job has caused grief I could do without. Plus being without the car again and the expensive of driving to a from the dealership.

I will probably buy the new Vrs when it comes out but boy this dealer will have to work dam hard to get my well earned.

That is shocking, and well worth contacting Skoda CS and having a whinge at them about their shoddy dealers and see if you can wangle anything to try and retain you as a future customer ;)

Chris

A call to CS is always worth making as they will pass details to the dealer and they will then know that you aren't about to roll over.

If they are repairing the threads on the seat runners that could well be a welding job, unless they can recover them with a tap.

Interestingly, my Fabia seat base was flagged as dangerous when it had it's MOT, yet I couldn't feel it moving under accelerating or braking. They were able to tap that out, but I'd imagine if there's that much movement in the seat, that it's not a straight forward job....

Mine was down to the useless Skoda mechanics who carried out the warranty work replacing my heated seat elements :(

Chris

IIRC the bolts go right through the floor and hence are not only subjected to the elements but have underbody protection on them too.

Believe me when a complaint is made to CS they are very thorough and the people to blame will be dropped kicked in the nut sack.

Mmmmm

Well Skoda CS read this forum , so name and shame and see what happens

Always give CS a call on 0845 7745745 and let them know too

With them always doing well with the CS awards they do like to keep it up

So come on SUK get your dealers up and running again

I loved my job , but the CS skills from my old boss was well , erm , rubbish so I left

|I LOVED my job to bit and was enthusiastic (thats why I am here) and I left.

OOh , does that mean my old boss has none left now :D

I would think it depends on the employer. My old boss took complaints very seriously but also fairly. If he thought I or the company were in the wrong I would get my ear chewed off and quite rightly so.

But sadly some people just dont care.

ShadwellVRS I have sent you a PM.

Sign of the times :(

The vast majority (99%) of people who work for us do their upmost to always resolve the customer issues. It's always the 1% of jobsworths who ruin it.

The reputation of the company is in the hands of the individual.

Hi Scooby it is that bad as I now have a hole where a bolt used to sit. Surely this must be dangerous?. Thank god it's going in on Monday.

I had my seat base replaced too and they scratched the door plasics and also the new seat base (which I don't think was new just a "spare"). annoying. plus I still have a squeaky seat!

No it was the boss who got the complaints :o
