Plan A -

Part ex Octy for a Clio 197. We dont really need the space of the Octy anymore so I was thinking of something a little more fun and chuckable. Ive been offered

no go unless flogged was my overall lasting impression , you will deffo miss the torque you have in the Octy

seemed a nice car to look at inside and out though , you can get a new one for less than

Ive only ever driven the 192, so i cant comment on the newer version.

But i wouldnt swap my octy for one.

the new cooper s seems to be more highly regarded than the clio 197 :)

The Clio does look a nice car, but plan B sounds the better option to me.

Or as APP suggests look at some other options that fall into the same 'type', like the Cooper S

Even when remapping the Octavia. The Clio 197 will still be quicker. They are beautiful cars to look out, and I'd certainly love to drive one.

Make sure it's race blue, but have you considered looking at a Premier Edition Civic Type R? 55 plate to 06 plate's.

Thanks to all for the input.

The deal looks like a non starter now. The dealer phoned to say they cant go any higher on the part ex price and I cant deal at 9.5K. When you stray outsde the Skoda network the price on the part ex just gets lower:thumbdwn:

When the dealer runs the reg though the computer it just comes back as an Ambiente plus the options are not really taken into account.

Shame cos I was looking forward to a test drive for comparison. I haven't drove a petrol car for nearly three years.

Get yourself a 182 Trophy.

I have one and i love it,its the best Clio ever made, all the magazines etc loved it.

You can noiw pick them up for 10-11K.

Far better bet than a 197 at the moment, will depreciate less aswell as they only made 500 of them.

If you live near Essex your more than welcome to have a drive in mine.
