Best of luck Stuart & Wendy.

Keep it safe mate and bring it home in one piece.

Have a great time, Stuart, and hope there's no probs with over-zealous policing! :D

Popped up this morning to wish Stuart well and took a few snaps.

I'm sure Stuart won't mind me posting this in his absence.

I had a call from him at around 1130 yesterday "We've got a problem with the car and we're in Calais, in the que at the Chunnel to come back". There weren't any garages open and able to help in France.

We had a chat about the problems he had and he asked if I knew anyone could help. I phoned Jim at JKM who offered some advice over the telephone and kindly offered to open up the workshops and have a look at the car when it arrived back in Portsmouth.

I spoke to Stuart again and he decided that they would make a dash back to Portsmouth in the hope that they could get the car fixed. The car was running but badly and mostly in 'Limp Mode'.

It seemed to pass quite quickly but mid to late afternoon Stuart and Wendy arrived at JKM where Jim and Keith were waiting.

Some excellent work by both Jim and Keith, a couple of calls to Jabba and of course our very own Ross ;) , saw the fault traced to an apparently faulty Throttle Body. Fortunately Jim was able to pull one out of his magic cupboard, which was fitted and tested.

So fingers crossed and all is well, I heard from Stuart and Wendy at about 8.30pm last night to say that they were back on the shuttle and on their way to Calais again.

Another message last night and they were safely tucked up in a French hotel taking a well earned break.

All in all a very long day for the two of them, not to mention one hell of a dash to get the car fixed late on a Saturday afternoon.

Their thanks go to all that helped especially to Jim and Keith who opened up on a Saturday afternoon to help out.

Best of Luck to Stuart and Wendy, I hope their trip continues without problems.

Wow, thats impressive  It just shows that there are a lot of good people around who are willing to go above and beyond their line of duty. Top job JKM, Jabba, Ross and Stu

Blimey, very eventful day for them.

A big thumbs up to the boys at JKM for that

Nice one Stu! :D

I think what it does illustrate is the strength and support of the community as a whole.

Latest news today is that all is going well and they hope to catch up with the rest of the Furballer's this afternoon in Cannes.

The TVR could have cleaned his wheels................................:P

Definately Sir!

I would do my best to help out in a circumstance where I would be able to do anything!

Latest update -

Stuart & Wendy are still going well. They spent last night in Monaco, where they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Car seems to be ok.

Excellent - nice little story too Stu, does indeed show how strong "the community" is!

All the best to Stuart and Wendy

Love the number plate screws on the blue vRS!

What's so special about them?

I'm guessing Tom's fetish for number plate screws is surfacing now!

Or it could be that the number plate screw on the left turns the 8 into a 0 :D

Thanks again to JKM & Jabba, the car ran faultlessly for 2000 miles after the panic fix then dropped into limp mode at the foot of the Stelvio pass so we limped it to the hotel at the top of the Pass. Thanks to the copy of vag com Stu had given me & Robin of the furball crew Robin managed to get it working on his lap top. So there we were sat in the snow with the laptop. Thanks to Stu for sitting on the phone & talking Robin through Vag com & they got the car out of limp mode, its since completed another 1000 faultless miles. Suspician is a relay which we could not change at JKM as they didnt have a spare so its into the dealers tomorrow for that.

Overall a great trip, better than last year & the car apart from the couple of hicks ran faultlessly & suprised a few. That was definately as some know the last run but, it was rather good so who knows.

The Toyo R888's are an awesome tyre & have a suprisuing amout of tread left, I must try harder next time

The car that suprised me most was the old Lambourgini Espada, Phil took no prisioners with it & really drove it as it should have been, he even got a 200+ Euro fine for speeding which I think was the highest, it has come back tired & will now get some TLC.

Another great memory was the Italian Border guards on the Swiss Italian border asking a Ferrari driver if he could make lots of noise & Smoke the tyres as he left the border checkpoint, perhaps they were sending a message to the Swiss

Glad you are all back in one piece mate.

Roll on September eh.

Seem's like you had fun then

Sounds like you had a fantastic time, Stuart ... not jealous at all ... honest! :o:rofl:

Chris

Good one mate :) , hopefully have a chance to catch up with you a the RR day next weekend
