There is The different final drives that apply to gears 1-4 & 5-6 results in a marked difference in gearing between 4th & 5th.

Doesn't seem worth worrying about then! Gained more than that in a re-map. Plus I didn't lose so much mpg.

Would a remap makes the gears "longer"?? First on the 07 Fabia vRS is really over revvy and you can actually get 6th at 40 mph, but an 04 car would stall at that speed in 6th. Seems pointless changing them in my opinion.
