Hi,

Has anybody else had these problems with their Fabia vRS??

Few more to follow..............

Front bumper...

It looks like the front bumper is creasing at the bottom. Not sure if it shows in the pics.

Can any of these be done under warranty???

Cheers.

I would say that it could be possible for the fog light, as it's not cracked from the front, then the seal may be duff.

It's worth going to the dealers and asking about the heat plate, I wouldn't expect it to come down like that. I have a 54 vRS and it's fine.

I'm sure I have seen another post on here about the fuel cap. Really it should be warranty as it's defective.

Regarding the bumper, they will probably say that the damage is a result of wear and tear, e.g. stones breaking the small bits of plastic, mine are broken on the drivers side.

I'll have a butchers at mine in me lunch hour and see if there are any signs of the indentations in the corners.

HTH

Ben :)

Cheers. I only found out about the heat plate last night as i was cleaning my car and couldn't believe it. :(

I've also got to post some pics of my seats fraying, which i think will get done under warranty.

With it being 3 years old in September, i want to get all warranty work done now.

The fuel cap problem is well known. Pull back the carpet on the RHS of the boot. It's probably come off it's fixing.

Both my front fog lights got smashed by stone chippings within 2 weeks of buying my car, they're now held together with cellotape!

fog lights used to mist up in my vRS... no signs of damage.... no memories of your other probs tho....

Anyone know if any of the above would be done under warranty please???

Funny you say that. My petrol cap wouldn't close on friday. :(

I've also noticed that the seat material on the rear (passenger?) side has pulled away from the catch to lower the rear seats. So there is just foam visible. About an inch square.

About time for some warranty work myself. :)

Fuel cap will be a loose cable.

Fog light will demist if you run it for 10 minutes.

Has the front bumper been in a fight with a speed hump?

Not as far as i'm aware. I haven't heard any noises or anything else of it hitting a speed hump. The only thing it could be is if i've parked somewhere with a high kerb and the front bumper and maybe caught that but nothing springs to mind. :(

My foglight was misted up too, popped out the bulb holder(it sits into small rubber mounts so it need a good yank, feels like it's gona break but it won't) and used some tissue to wipe it clean & it never misted up again.

the heat sheild on mine has done that a few times now. Last time it was fixed by the very nice jabba lads. Hasn't broken since.

How much did that set you back??

I'd say the bumper is the only oe you'd struggle with on the warranty score.

Get as much done before the original 3 year warranty expires. :D

At the moment then, i need:

New seats - Rocking and fraying,

Heat plate,

Fuel cap,

Fog light - possible,

Front bumper - unlikely to be warranty as it is wear and tear,

Anything else i should look out for or have done???

Also, when having the front seats changed, will they change the back one as well???

Another couple of problems i meant to mention as well. My drivers side brake light keeps blowing. I've got to change it again, which will be for about the 4th or 5th time, and it's only been a few months since i last changed it, yet the passenger side one is still either the original or i've only changed it once.

Any possible causes for that???

Also, without any bass on the stereo, my drivers door speaker sounds like it's distorted and vibrates quite badly. Anything i can do to sort that out or is it best left to the people at the Skoda garage and another possible warranty claim for new speakers???

Okay, i've done a quick look about and not quite sure, so, will the seats actually be changed under warranty if it's nearly 3 years old or will they say it's just general wear and tear???

Has anyone had any problems with the brake lights keep blowing after only a few months???

Not me....just my front fog light bulbs seem very fond of blowing

Had this on our old Ibiza when using halfords bulbs, used bosch instead and it was fine.

i agree with EddyH , use good quality bulbs , also use the handbrake when stopped not the footbrake ;)

They will never replace the whole seats, they would simply order replacement covers. Depending on the dealer and the extent of the wear, there is a chance that they may try and say it was wear and tear.

This is a good tip. Use the handbrake and the bulbs will blow less often.
