VRS_Dave's Fabia

Featured Replies

Hey Guys have just joined the Forum and decided to put some pics up of the VRS. I got her about 4 months ago on a 53 plate with approx 40K on the clock.

Since then I have been saving and carried out the following modifications:

1. Colour coded front grill and removed rear Fabia badging.

2. Fitted Seat Cupra splitter.

3. Removed door rubbing strips.

4. Fitted VW Golf Mk4 R32 alloy wheels and Skoda badges.

5. Have just fitted Weitec Hicon TX fully adjustable coilovers.

My plans for the immediate future are to fit new Octavia VRS badging and also repaint the calipers once more when I do the discs and pads. Oh yeh and it needs its cambelt doing at the next service so I am saving for that so I can get the water pump done at the same time etc.

The pictures below were taken a couple of days ago on the first sunny day that we have had in ages lol! Comments welcome guys!

But first, the car I had before the VRS, my first modifying project and my pride and joy!

Have done a really good job there

Alloys look awesome!!

Nice job, like your style.

Get yourself some facelift rear lights to freshen up the back end! :)

looks good... I'd advise one of your next mods is a sumpguard though! ;)

really like it, as said above some facelift rear lights, some body colour door handles and a sump guard lol,

That's one good looking Fabia you got yourself there mate.......very nicely modified if I do say so myself!!

Very nice, Sitting nicely.

Very nice looking car.

Wish i could get those alloys for mine. :( :rubchin:

Thanks a lot for the kind comments guys.

Sharkrider - I defo need to get a sumpgaurd mate for sure lol! Have been looking on the site but havent come across many people who have them tho?? Which tuning companies produce them for the Fabia?

With regard to the facelift rear lights, until it was brought to my attention I didn't even realise the tail lights were different on the newer Fabia's lol! But i'm not sure whether the newer lights would suit the car?? My lights have more red in them which I reckon suit my car better with it being red?? Will have to have a think lol!

Cheers guys, Dave

Nice !

Priority Number 1: SUMP GUARD!!!

Car looks awesome mate! I would love to get coilovers for mine but the roads round here are terrible! How do you find the Weitec's and can I ask how much you paid?

Very nice! I like the ride height and the wheels. The stretch on the tyres is nice too!

OMG! That Furby looks hot on those R32 rims!!!!:eek::eek:

Thanks again for the king comments guys lol!

Schwarz - I paid £620 approx for the Weitec coilovers which have adjustable rebound damping. So far I have found them excellent value for money, they are not a particularly easy kit to fit (in my opinion) and u have to remove the rear dampers to adjust the damping characteristics but the ride quality is excellent. I have the dampers set at full stiff all round at the mo and the ride really is comfortable, you do get what you pay for with these kits and I am glad I saved up for a bit longer and bought this kit.

Hope this helps,

Regards, Dave :)

Did this car happen to be at 3 sisters the other day, cause I saw one that looks so similar parked there all day. I was admiring it everytime I passed it.

  • Author

That is correct mate yes. I work at 3 sisters and so it usually parked there lol!

Was your car the black Octavia parked up next to the pit lane???

No I was there for the sprint the other day, im generally found working on the red mini that usually dominates the road modified class. I got there courtasy of the BMW tow car we use.

I must say it was looking great, I would have had a closer look, but was short of time, and was a touch worried by being set upon by a big burly bloke thinking I was after his car.

  • Author

Oh really, will have to check the Mini out next time I am working a sprint then!

Don't worry the big burly bloke is more like a tall and slim bloke who is quite harmless lol! Say hello next time lol!

ok will do not going to be at 3 sisters til the sept 29th meeting though, the owner/driver is away in finland for the 2 lap meeting unfortunatly. I know he likes that layout, and i would like to see it in operation too, ah well mayby next year.

Just for referance, for you or anyone who happens to see us this is the mini im generally found by, scrubbing the tyres, fueling and other such basic stuff.

mate the vrs looks mint!! i was gunna buy them wheels but got advised not to because they will rub??? but gotta say looks mint dude!

Thanks m8, after having the wheels a couple of months now I can honestly say that I have not had any major fubbing issues really. The tyres only rub over big compressions on the road at speed and even then because the tyres are stretched 10mm they are only catching the plastic arch liner and so no major damage is done to the tyre from a safety point of view  .

Coming from having had a Fiesta RSTurbo lookalike with 8" Escort Cossy Wheels fitted and lowered a heck of a lot it is like luxury lol!

Man I loved that car lol! :D

How far did you lower your car, getting coilovers and the ride height is just right, any sump issues?

  • Author

Stuno1 - To be honest mate I am not sure exactly how far I have lowered it as I have just wound it down until the arches sit pretty much flush with the tyres. The back is as low as the suspension will allow. As of yet I have not had 1 sump issue, oh yeh appart from when I ran over an empty beer can which was rolling down the road and the sump squashed it good lol!

Dave

Cheers, a lot of people seem to think having the car that low will cause the plastic sump guard issues, going to get mine lowered and pondering whether to gtet ity reinforced or not?!?!?! really love thye ride height on yours though.
