Absymal Service

Featured Replies

I chose a Skoda Superb Comfort 3 years ago as my company car

Is Simpson's of Colne close enough to Manchester?

Rob.

Do you have to get it serviced at a main dealer, or can you take it to a specialist like Awesome GTI? The only thing they'd not be able to do is warranty work though....

Chris

Benfield in Harrogate - 58.2 miles from Manchester. Excellent customer service.

Thanks all for your promt replys

Simpsons in Preston or Colne are both excellent

Sorry to hear about your problems mate......how many miles does the Superb have on it now then?

Never had any work done there, but always been happy with the spares holding at Claybank. Never had to wait for a part, unlike the Grasmere (formerly Sylk) or Horner's. Was pretty happy with Gorner's until they folded, and now that I no longer work anywhere near my favourite independent garage (NK Automotive in Birchwood), I think it'll be Awesome all the way for me once this next service and round of warranty checks (3yrs/60k) is out of the way...

Sounds about right. I have found Skoda to be terrible at customer service - the dealers are terrible and its almost impossible to get them to do anything properly. I wont be buying another Skoda. (I love my Superb, but life is too short to be messed about, wouldnt reccomend a Skoda to anyone because dealers stink)

Sounds a little strong mate???? You must have had some really bad experiences then????

Dont get me wrong, the car is great. I have had a few faults on it:

1)steering wheel is not aligned properly

2)Windscreen washers self distruct within a year

3)knocking noise when taking bends

4)Vibration from centre console

5) seatbelt too slack]

6)Boot wouldnt open

7) Issues with repairs to bumbers.

1) - I paid

Afraid I have to agree in general.

Going back 3/4 times to get something fixed then giving up because each time they try and fix it they cause more damage is not abnormal in my experience.

Those dealers who are good are excellent, however these are few and far between.

Most of the dealerships I have dealt with are well below what I would expect.

Case in point was taking a focus in for servicing at about half the price of the octy (they are similar spec and the service is similar) and receiving much better service from the dealer than the local skoda dealer I used at the time. Now I'm not saying all ford dealers are good, I'm sure they are not. I do however feel that the car brands ought to be doing more to fix this problem and actually take customer service issues seriously rather than price pointing everything to a point of obsession.

Understand all your points guys and I guess this is a topic that I will have to bail out of as I have also had poor experience from dealers at both VW and Skoda but I have never purchased a brand new car, I doubt I ever will and carry out all my repairs and maintenance by myself or a reputable garage.....

I will get my coat and take my Superb with me out of this thread now.....

What sort of fuel consumption did you get whilst driving around all 150 dealers in the Country?

Skoda dealers = bad - they fail to see where they stand in the food chain - bad service = lose business = eventually lose job.

Dealers brain = small, so not able to work this out.

I have no intention of trying all the 150 dealers in the country.

The purpose of a dealer being aothorised by a manufacturer is that the customer has an assurance of quality. Presumably, Skoda would ensure dealers offer a particular level of service, else they lose their approved status. This does not seem to be the case.

I should not have to travel all over the place, wasting my time and money in order to find a dealer that gives good service. I should visit my local - or indeed, any dealer and get perfect service. I have tried two local authorised Skoda agents and they are both offering bad service.

If I have a problem with my car, I should take it to a dealer who should:

1) Apologide that I have been inconvenienced by the fault

2) Rectify the fault perfectly first time

There can be no debate about it. Im right. Thats what should happen. Its Skodas problem if they fail to manage their dealers properly or have the right emphasis on quality.

I have made an official complaint to Skoda about my dealer - but my car is still riddled with little faults. Not my job to chase them up.

Wont buy another Skoda. Pitty as I like the car.

I think this sums up how I feel about my experience of customer service:

"Junk is the ideal product. The ultimate merchandise. No sales talk necessary. The client will crawl through a sewer and beg to buy. The junk merchant does not sell his product to the consumer, he sells the consumer to his product. He does not improve and simplify his merchandise. He degrades and simplifies the client."

Congratulations.

I believe you have established a new World Record in the field of "How spectacularly you can miss a point".

You should be very proud.
