mini cooper

Featured Replies

Mums just got her new mini cooper, bought off a friend of the family, its a 55 plate, fully loaded with 650 miles on the clock:eek:

The guy had it serviced at one year, that was quite a big trip though, i think about 100 of the miles that are on the car went on that one

Its absolutly mint - garaged for most of its life.

Little dent on the bonnet but apart from that its spotless as you'd expect

That's rediculous - 650 miles!

Bit of a waste, isn't it - but sounds like you've got a good buy...

I'd just be really careful, as you're still running it in. And probably sort an oil change, and give pipes etc a look over for cracking and perishing...

Steve

Lovely cars and brilliant handling. Just waiting for the local dealer to get back to me about a test drive in a new Cooper D :D

Chris

I was sat to the side and slightly behind a new Cooper yesterday in a queue - sounded really nice as it moved off.

new Cooper D :D

Not enough power and a missed opportunity IMO. If that had been labelled the new 'One D' then maybe, but in a Cooper you expect something a bit more special.

tell me about it, hes head of something or other for barclays so the money wasnt an issue - my impulse buy's rarely go over 17 quid let alone 17k :(

Good point made about checking it over, the service was done before sale by bmw:thumbup:

I know F all about mini, are the coopers supercharged or turbo's now ?

Think Mike's bought the Cooper, so it's neither. So a 1.6 developing 115.

The Cooper S models were supercharged, upto the facelift. And while I'm here original power was 163, later tweaked to about 168, I think in late '04.

The S now uses a 1.6 Turbo, developed with PSA group, so is being used in the Pug 207 now too.

Nice motors, I just don't really get on with the interior and there's a few too many about here for me :o - otherwise I'd certainly consider one, they drive really nicely.

the reviews I've read don't like it... it was reviewed against the GP sporting in Autoexpress and lost ;) your mondy's likely to be quicker! as someone else said... missed oppertunity on BMW's part....

Top Gear MAgazine rates it pretty highly... As do I after a recent drive in a friends. Just dont like the hard ride, and the extortionate cost...

i only sat in it the other day, lots of plastic

switches everywhere - but i suppose thats cause it has everything!

I'm not really that bothered about driving it but i have no doubt the deal she got was a good one.

Its not a bad little car but 17k new - no thanks

even at 11200 for one thats nearly 2 years old, i'd be hard pushed to go for it at that money, on the other hand 600 miles on the clock!

theres a lot to be had for 11k

but it aint mine and its what she wanted

nicer than the corsa she had thats for sure

I'm sure it'll handle well

Evo seemed to love it, although said it was let down by the high price and the noise at idle (it's a diesel FFS!). My Mondy quicker than another car?! Surely not ;)

Lets be honest, most magazine reviewers make their minds up before they even see the car.

The ONLY accurate way to find out if a car is any good is to put your copy of Top Gear down & go and drive it. You might just find out that you like something the reviewers hated & vice versa.

Love minis! I have a '71 mini clubman and he rocks. My mate has a MINI cabrio and I love driving it. Looks hot too. The car, not my mate. :D

Are you sure that's his car? He doesn't look like your stereotypical MINI cabrio driver

Chris

No. He doesn't. He's not asian or a yuppie. But it's his and he loves it. So does everyone else. Got pulled over the other day by a couple of cops and they used some excuse to look over the car. They loved it too. :D
