Mobil 1 0w-40 in vRS

Featured Replies

Yay or nay? I'm told the TT225 gets mobile1 0w-40 from Audi. Would it be suitable in a vRS of should I be looking for a 5-40/10-40?

Thanks

Glad you asked that question as I was about to ask the same

No problem at all with putting it in, I've run mine on it with no problems:thumbup:

Steve

Cheers Steve, that backs up what others have said.

Yes, I use it in mine, cheap in Costco. Better than using semi IMO as Ive had it remapped. Im not sure its suitable for variable servicing though.

It's no good for variable servicing, but I use fixed anyway...

Yep, me too. Definitely better for the engine. Costco have it for

National tyres do an oil and filter change for

I dont know but I hope it doesnt wounder the engine ;)

Im sticking with the Mobil 1 as it looks good for my servicing records if/when I come to sell it on. Only once a year too.

The vRS came factory-filled with spec VW 503 00 0w-30 fully synthetic LongLife oil. Whilst oil of that spec is still available, it is also included in the later spec VW 504 00 which is a 5W-30 fully synthetic LongLife oil. Either is suitable for variable service intervals.

Castrol RS 10w60 is good for vRS???

I tried! I phoned them and they said they would call me back.... but didn't.

I have been using mobil 1 0w-40 in my vrs for the last year..

10w60 wouldn't really be suitable, the engine will have to work harder to push it around the engine (less power) thats why a 30 grade oil is better for this type of engine.
