My car sure attracts some interest....

Featured Replies

I have noticed that my car seems to attract (not unwanted) attention more and more recently. Today's example was going to get my front wheels straightened out. After having a quick go in my car (i.e driving it in the garage and on to a ramp) I had about 3 people asking me about the LPG, and what I'd done to it. And the whole crew were at the garage door as I drove off following a successful good value front wheel alignment.

I seem to get the same attention on the road too, especially from scrotes which hang out during the holidays. Perhaps this attention is not so desirable, but I feel kind of glad that the effort I've put in to the mongrel isn't going unnoticed. Got a carshow week sunday - usual thing people do, is look at the car, then walk to the boot to be faced with a NOS bottle and LPG tank - look bemused, then wander around to the engine to see the bits in there, then usually smile, mutter something about "It's a Skoda..." then go on their way, perhaps taking a photo. :)

Anyone find their car does as well, even in standard form?

Plenty of people look at the Polo, with the black badge up the front and no badges on the rear i think people sometimes struggle to figure out what it is as the Variant is fairly uncommon.

I think the colour of my car helps in the attraction factor!

No one looks at my car or pays any interest in it. Just how I like it.;)

Last year on one of our road trips my car got lots of attention from Aussie tourists - they don't have Skodas there!

your best not getting attention, normally some scroatbags trying to nick it.. :thumbdwn:

Yeah and you have to watch them Aussies :D (joke!)

Well, Mr Bean's gone up in the world. :P

I concur with Ross, being totally debadged externally, and being styled a bit aggressively, a lot of attention is probably people trying to work out what it actually is....

Lots of people look at mine too, as you cold see at GTI Festival

I was driving with one of my friends the other week, he was behind me in his Scooby, and he said every village we went through people were looking at my car  but not his

people look at mine all the time, but then, it's just SSOOOO beautiful ... ;)

I get the odd head turn in the Corrado, oh and everyone saying "I always wanted one of those!".

Not too keen on the **** corsa guys who always try to race it, particularly the one that blew up in front of it.....Burnt oil and coolant isn't so easy to shift!

Phil

 at this thread

In all seriousness.

Its a SKODA!

My car gets a few compliments and it is standard. Last one I had was from a policeman who had just pulled me over.

T'is quite funny what I'm reading! LOL

What a load of old Bol..................

:sofahide:

Fact of the matter is if it is de-badged people are interested as it is a good looking car. Often get people on the motorway looking over their shoulders, asking in petrol stations and any non-skoda garages i always get asked questions....Does not bother me at all. compliments are welcome!!!

When you tell people you drive a Passat TDI - they normally say "nice cars them, go well too". :)

However, being a white one with battenburged back, dog guard and cones in the boot whilst wearing my yellow jacket - I get LOADS of attention. :)

perhaps not

my dads van got a lot of looks on the way to bugjam last weekend......

one of the lads had stuck a "I love dogging" sticker on the back!!

Yup :D

Since the debadge people have no idea what it is, most think it was horrifically expensive, & (even better) most think it must be awesomely fast!
