Diesel Life

Featured Replies

Hi,

How many miles should you typically get out of a 1.9 TDi engine? Looking at an octavia 01 (Y reg) Elegance Estate with 90,000 on the clock with FSH. How long is this going to last me? What are people getting out of these engines? Any ideas?

Thanks, Shaun

Should go at least double that, if not more, if well looked after - cambelt changed when it should be, and well maintained with engine fluids etc.

Yeah agree with Jason. I bought mine with 54k miles on it and am expecting 150k with no problems. :) Think someone mentioned one Fabia TDi which had just ticked over 200k and Skoda were looking to buy it back as a demo? Not sure where I read that though!

I'm trying to find the link to the black 80K TDI Fabia which was for sale a couple of months ago - I think it's been sold - but it was still at a good price showing that TDI residuals are pretty good.

Come back in another 3 or 4 years - mine will have about 150k on it by then and I'll let you know! ;)

I would hope 200k minimum out of a diesel lump.

Went to my dealer and he had a taxi driver looking at replacing his Octavia which had 350k on the clock
