I'm thinking of replacing my rear shocks soon

do i need spring compressors or any other specialist tools?

Yes you will need spring compressors as far as i am aware.

spring compressors are a must.

Dont do what i did and attempt to use trolley jacks and pieces of wood to compress them (leaning against a wall).

It popped and a piece of wood actually WENT THROUGH my garage roof. lol still managed it though!

i've managed to remove and refit without compressors. i wouldnt recommend it though.
