180 and 225 difference

Featured Replies

Mine ran 236 .... Majority on Awesome GTI and JKM, ran 240hp.

It is just a more realistic figure, rather than the K03s being 240.

Bear in mind, the earlier K04 turbo'd engines, had 210hp to start with.

So, nothing wrong with remap, although, my car wasn't running right... and this isn't my car we're talking about in the thread.

Here's an example...

K04 turbo's cannot hit the 270 hp mark, just from remaps which Revo claim.

Some of the following are Revo'd and didn't see much over 240.. Awesome GTI Store UK - Rolling Road

And another Awesome GTI Store UK - Rolling Road

225hp Leon Cupra R, Revo Remap, Turbo Intake Pipe, Samco Hoses, Milltek Turbo Back Exhaust, K&N Panel Filter, Forge FMIC ran 250hp.

i was assuming () 225 as standard, and when you factor in my subconsious reference point of a before/after elegence spec octavia (150/200) and a gain of 9bhp on a turbo car seemed pretty poor :o

14? You mean... 24hp - That's about right in my book.

Same with the K03s, 180 + 24 = 204 HP (Which is about right!). Still a bit muck? It's the same thing, just on a different scale!

Ups :o :O on the ol addition!!! hahaha

i know what ur mean for a geniric map but 24 hp on a cust remap is muck....iv seen plenty of cars 1.8T 1.9tdi 2.7T gone up more then 24hp....35-40 is what they normaly come in at on the one's iv seen and iv seen that on Rollers to. but last year those fig are spot on of 24hp r a bit more most Octy rs were round 212 mark last year but the mapping has come on a bit and brought up the levels

remapped LCR with 234hp? worst. remap. ever..?

I bet those 234hp are meassured at the wheels. The factory meassures for (almost?) all cars are done at the crank. So take the base 225hp and multiply it by0.85 assuming a 15% drivetrain loss (worst case scenario) and you get 191fwhp. A regular remap gets you around 40 - 50hp, depending on turbos etc, so if you take those 191fwhp and add 45hp from a remap, you get 236fwhp. That sounds about right?

Nope. Sounds wrong. My car measured 196WHP, which is roughly the 236bhp mark.

Razor, when you mention diesels, diesels can be remapped on a larger scale, for instance, they always come out the best and achieve the best results if mapping the standard car. They can take more pressure.

In regards to the 212 mark from just a remap, each RR is completely different, I'm just going from the one's that Awesome GTI use and JKM use, and not many get over the 205 mark. As I said, these little figures are marginal, one RR is different to the next.. but I do trust JKM's rolling road.

yea cool i know what u mean shoopie....i know diesels use almost 100% boost, but still it rase's an interesting question as to what to people claim on a remap and what it does to there car

At the end of the day Razor, they're just claims, the road is a better comparison.

Yea dead right man,

Guys,

At no point did I say the Leon had been remapped. It has a full Miltek system fitted to it and new hoses. Also..

a Ko3s (thats whats in the RS) Cant flow over 230bhp it Cant hold Boost and the it will chew its self and ur Engine! it surg's etc. a remap...a good one with a CAI can get u 225 but its got to be taylored to the car but a 225 block will still have the edge as its ment to run those boost levels etc it dumps cleaner and holds traction better etc etc

I was just about to post about this. The boost in the car is dropping out at 4500rpm in every gear. It comes in around 2000rpm and then dies. I've had to take out the airmass as it was juddering - new one on order but I suspect the increased power has messed up the ECU? Any ideas?

The Leon seems to pull much harder than mine does but it doesn't win in a straight line race. Read into it what you will, no reason to lie :(

So your losing power after 4,500rpm, and the Leon is still losing. Don't you think there is something wrong with it???

The power loss is only recent, since removing the air mass meter

It is a bit strange: The Awesome rolling road figures, some have only about 8-10% transmission loss, which could explain why some say: "that crank figures is not a big gain over standard". But the wheel figures seems right.

Mine had 180 bhp at the wheels (and 150 before remap). But unfortunately we couldn't measure the loss. But I asumed it had to be over 210 bhp at least. That's with 15% loss. In the past with my previous cars I have seen higher readings, like up to 20%
