vRS alloy paint match

Featured Replies

Hello all.

Got a little scuff on my front drivers side wheel I'd like to touch up.

I'm getting quite handy with the old rattle cans now.. figured I'd give it a go.

Going to mask it off, clean and lightly sand down the offending area, fill, prime then paint and laquer.

Just wondering if anyone knows of an "off the shelf" paint which is a good match?

Smooth Hammerite silver is a pretty good match.

The paint description is: "VW Alloy Silver".

I seriously curbed one alloy, which after filling and rubbing down I was able to re-spray using an aerosol.

I used our local paint supplies specialist who just typed the description "VW Alloy Silver" into his PC and thereafter was able to prepare, on-site, a 1/2 litre aerosol can. Cost about

Do you have a pic of the packaging mate so I can go and get some tonight?

It's the Wurth paint that goes on the wheels in the factory. Obviously not from a rattle can though. :D

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some touch-up paint for my VW 17" Monza Alloy wheels (currently fitted to my Golf Mk5 GT TDi), and I read your discussion on the web regards alloy touch up paint for your Skoda wheels, and was hopeing you may be able to tell me what exact paint you bought, and from where, to touch up your wheels?

I've had a couple of stone chips (3mm) which have gone through the paint, and would love to get them filled to match the colour of my original VW wheels.

Was it the Wurth paint you got, but in paint (not aerosol spray) form?

Many Thanks,

Rob Jones

Performancemotorcare.com also have wurth wheel paint and laquer .400 ml aerosols about a tenner carriage paid.
