(slightly) Modded Octy vRS

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just thought I'd post to say I am a very happy man, although my bank manager (SWMBO) may not be! My Octy has now got the following fitted to it:

APR 98 RON/ Standard program (switchable)

K&N Hi-flow panel filter

Miltek exhaust/ sports cat

New Bosch DV

BlackDiamond Front (grooved) discs/pads, Rear pads

Bilstein Sprint shockers

4 New Pirelli P-ZEro Rossos

Car Dyno'd at 224BHP, 228 lbs/ft

It is like I am driving a different car, I'd heartily recommend to anyone considering getting their 'breathed-on' to do it! Most of the work was carried out by Jim and his team at Star Performance up in Glenrothes and would recommend them to anyone....a fine job.

Cheers

Hugh

Was all that done in one go? Well, if you're gonna mod a car from standard you may as well go the whole hog. :D

Excellent, sounds perfect :D , how have you found the billies?

Jason,

lol

No, the work was done in two parts with the shockers and exhaust done on Friday. Just wanted to wait until the car was finished until I announced to all of you good people.

Fivepint,

The Billies are superb and really 'tighten' the car up for the fast twisties we have up here in sunny Scotland. The car feels firmer too and more planted also when on the motorway, I'd heartily recommend them.

Cheers

Hugh

have you gone for the v tune option?

I'm not really planning on tweaking the map myself as I don't know enough about it, but Jim (Star Performance) said that he is working with APR on the V-Tune 'custom map' software for the Octy and when they give him the 'all-clear' I can go back to them for a full complimentry ECU upgrade.

When that is available I'm really hoping to gain some more torque as since the Miltek has been fitted, the car has lost a few lbs/ft but obviously has gained a bit more top end ooomph.

Cheers

Hugh

its available now..

both ColinD and myself are running it!:D

Yeah, I know but don't have any confidence in me to start p***ing around with the settings and not blow the thing up! lol

How do find using V-tune, is it as good as it sounds ?? (providing you know what you're doing, unlike me!)

Cheers

Hugh

it can make your turbo glow red!

lol ffelan,

Expected turbo life when 'glowing', can't be long??

Cheers

Hugh

not sure... maybe it makes them better? mine was only held in with 2 bolts... so will have to put back together properly next week.
