Citroen C1

Featured Replies

I've got one of these as a courtesy car whilst my Furby is at the dealers and I must say that I am very impressed! It's very cool and great fun ... I maybe turning into a woman! I'm certainly enjoying it more than the new Fabia I had to endure last week ... those are definitely a step back IMO!

What's the deal with the Citroen C1, the Peugeot 107(?) and the Aygo Toyota though!?!?!? Who actually makes the cars / engines seeing as they are almost identical in reality?!?!!?

I believe the diesel engine is a PSA design - not sure about the petrol , but all three cars are built in the same brand new jointly owned factory in the Czech republic.

i really like it as well. I had a C1 as a courtesy car and it was a cracking little thing.

The Aygo Black looks better though

Interesting. Glad to hear that somebody else was impressed and it's not just that I'm going mad. It really is a cool little car.

So would it be safe to say that the quality really doesn't differ between the three of them that much or do you reckon that the Aygo would benefit from some 'Toyota engineering'?

The build quality should be the same across all three , though the Toyota would still hold it's value better.

My brother sold his Oct'y vrs and bought a Toyota Aygo Blue and loves it!!

When I bought my Corsa back in September, I'd actually gone to get a Toyota Aygo Black. Really cool little things, but went for the Corsa instead because I was a plonker. :)

That could have worked out better , couldn't it. :)

Did you test drive the Aygo , or get distracted by the shiny Vauxhalls before you arrived?

And

Distracted. There were big sale signs everywhere... and I was lured by the diesel.

It was on the way home from the Toyota dealer who said I had to book a testdrive.

I like the Aygo Blue , it looks cool with those alloys. It would be on my list if I was after a car of that size.

my mate's dad has loads of C1 courtesy cars, and my mate who drives a Clio 182 says theyre awesome little cars to drive

Too many cars these days have had the fun engineered out of them, I guess the cheap n' cheerful approach has reintroduced the joys of motoring without having to do 8,000 mph! :D

^^^ Too true, I love driving my other halfs Aygo Black.... I really like the look of the sporty Pug version, the 107XS is it??

Best thing about them is the sound of the 3cyl engine when you give it some

yeh, the engine on the c1 I had did sound good. You could pull away and leave it in first for quite a while ... in fact it seemed to prefer a late change into second. There was a nice little sound from it at 4k rpm and above!

All built in Czech by the creme of skoda workers. Plant in in Kolin near Mlada Boleslav. Says it all.

They have a very flat torque curve, so what little there is is constantly on tap so to speak.. combined with the fact the bhp curve climbs nicely and peaks just before the red line at 6k revs probably explains why they seem so nippy and eager.

I think SWMBO is giveing her Aygo its bi-annual wash to day so if she does a decent job I'll put some piccies up later on
