I Want To Lower My Pickup!

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased a pickup, and I am now in the hunt for a set up that will lower it. I don't want a silly drop, just something that will hold my 15" Mattig Steels in the arches! Obviously, replacing the springs, I also want to replace the shocks, but with uprated ones!

I want a stiff ride, and a decent drop, but like I said, nothing silly.

Can you help me out please!!

This is a MUST! It needs dropping!!

A bloke called Lummox on here did wonders with a humble pick-up.... well worth a search or a pm

mk4 golf springs fit in the rear ,and personaly i would remove the fronts and heat up three middle coils and compress equally. this removes the need for shorter shocks and stops the vehicle from bottoming out . ive done this several times and havnt had any problems

cheers steve

I would like to lower the front by another inch or so, by I have just purchased Some 9" wide Mattig's, on an ET-4 so they stick out! Beautiful they are!!

Is there any shocks that are VERY stiff which I can fit?! I just want to stop rubbing the wheels on the arches and also stop the rear(also the front, but not as much) bouncing around!

Any help or link to somewhere would be greatly appreciated!!

Many Thanks!

So realli all Im after are some VERY Stiff shocks for the rear!

Uprated shocks for the front..

And if possible, lowering springs, both front and rear.

You want harder springs to go with the dampers mate. Supercritical damping will reduce travel over small bumps, but not over big ones where you're more likely to get wheel/tyre to arch or suspension contact.

on the pick up you have the stiffest dampers of the lot. i would put some s-max -35mm lowering springs on the front. but i'm not sure about the back cuz its different to the normal cars.

I know there arn't that many lowering sets around for the back, hence lummox used air suspension on the one he did. I now have this and recently changed the rear shocks for a koni adjustable set, they may be a little on the long side but dont bottom out at all.
