Hi chaps, thought i would introduce you all to my proper old skool Skoda.

It's a 1979 Skoda S110R coupe, 1 of approx 12 left in the UK so it is a VERY rare car. It has been off the road for approx 5 yrs but will hopefully be back up and running in the next couple of months.

My plans are to run it for a couple of months and then take off the road over winter for a full overhaul. It is currently running a standard 1200cc engine in the rear, but i'm planning on replacing this with a 1300cc from a Felicia, fitted with a 40 DCOE Weber that i have sat in my workshop. Bodt wise it's staying as it is, but possibly resprayed in Focus ST orange.

So what do you guys think?????

Very nice, Look forward to seeing the ongoing project.

Wow!! That is gorgeous!

The interior is all silk or matt black cloth, vinyl and paint yes? TIA.

Very nice. Not thinking about perhaps going for the felly 1.6? It won't be a massive step up going for the 1.3 (unless you wish to retain an original Skoda engine?)

ST Orange will probably work well. I think the vRS black magic metallic would suit it.

That is bootiful. It will look brilliant in ST Orange too.

Is the Felly 1.6 a straight drop in fit??? I've got a 130LSE and I have been exploring other engines ready for replacement time.

I like it.

I've seen one of those in the flesh before and they are very good looking cars - much nicer than the Estelles and the like that replaced it

:iagree: - particularly in the case of the S110/110/120Cs vs the Rapids.

I love it!! very nice looking car

for 1.6 considerererers.

the 1.3 makes 60odd standard, 100 in useable modified form, and 130 at an unreliable but fast edge.

the 1.6 is about half the weight again, makes 60odd standard, 100 in useable form and 130-140 tops, although its more torquey throughout, which is good as it needs more torque to shift the heavy *** lardy cast block.

And who needs half as much weight again hung out behind the back wheels?

Thanks for the info, I'll cross that off the list of possibles then.

The front end transformation is now taking place, expect pics shortly, its going single headlight for now, until i get the bowls for the spotlights.

good man. now a lightweight fiat/alfa twincam which is good for 200brake makes a lot more sense, dunnit ;)

I'm seriously considering the 1300cc Suzuki twin cam, and i know a chap that has an adaptor plate to fit 1 as well. These engines are nice and light and can produce around 160bhp.

Nice car!

No, silly person, that is a Polo, this is a Skoda.

I would look spot on in original Skoda colours, and wheels, with just an invisible little extra 'oomph'.

Just my opinion.

When you say original Skoda colours, do you mean the works rally colours?

This orange is the original colour it left the factory with in 1979. As for wheels it should soon have a set of Skoda minilights fitted.

I cant wait to get this car running properly and back on the road, it's last tax disc expired 5 yrs ago and has only done 600 miles since it was last MoT'd in 2001

:iagree: - the orange was a works colour, and looks good. There are several possibilities for "works rally colours", mostly coloured stripes or panels on white.

The front end conversion has started today, for now i'm fitting a replacement single headlight front panel.

This is the panel red oxide primered and lights fitted.

I'm not sure whether I like it or not, i'm going to have to get the spot lights for the twin light panel and give that a try.

I've decided i'm going to fit a pair of new front wings as well, as these are a little bit rough around the edges, while i'm at it I may as well do it properly.

twin light FTW. new wings also FTlongtermW ;)

I'm seriously considering a 130RS replica now, keeping the single lights and 2 up 2 down spotlights

Nice car a long time coming to you hope it gets to where you want to be eventually
