Have joined the dark side and bought a petrol Octavia, looking forward to the taxi jokes.

Ex Police car, do you think they declared the mods to their Insurance company.:)

What engine mate?

"D" it's a 1.8t, 150bhp unit, don't know the code. (4x4 so I can try some extra power.)

Why? What issues did you find?

Need to catch up mate, not seen you in a while, Petrol station would be a good place ;)

Yes petrol station would be fine, sure I'll be visiting a few. Somewhere near a bar cause I owe you one.:)

Jason I'll compose a list for you, you never know it may re-appear in a Mk1.;)

nice mate, stick the bam in it and what running gear do you have?

if you have the 6 speed box its not a straight swap into the 4x4 as it requires clutch, flywheel, driveshafts, prop, starter motor and selectors(think thats about it). the 150bhp 1.8T remaps to the same as the 180bhp from the vRS. go see star and get a GT2x fitted or buy a TT manifold and get a bigger one(bigger ones won't fit to standard manifold as the turbo is too low and clashes with the transfer box) as i learnt that the bigger ones aren't a straight swap either :(

get some 312's too mate as the standard brakes are pants :D

.... and definitely not Volvo's

YouTube - Road Wars: PC Langley, Bad Day

Although I'm sure you can all see what's going to happen and know who is actually at fault! ;)

Chris

yeah, obviously the lorry drivers fault

130mph upto the back of a lorry indicating into the lane your in would in my mind mean start breaking :)

It's running Brembos 323's and don't know the rear size, Police fitted them at 1000 miles so musn't have liked the standard ones, A few other bits and pieces fitted by the original owners, got a huge print out from them detailing all work done. I have the BAM plus all ancillarys, full transmission and running gear. :) Handy spares if they don't go in the Mk1 Golf.

nice, i have the same brakes on my 4x4, much better than standard. what colour adn is it an estate?

I would have gone for the undertake personally - always got the hard shoulder as an escape route that way if needed and you can see there's no traffic in front of it ;)

Chris

either way he didn't do that well but the lorry driver seemed to get all the blame on the day, i wonder what happened when his superiors saw the tape?

He's now working in New Zealand - not sure if the two are related ;)

Chris

You only have to look how long the mirriors disappear on the truck when he approaches

But the LGV should not go into lane 3 if it was a motorway, but IS allowed on an "A" road.
