Welcome to Briskoda.

I have a vRS, but cant compare it to another engine, sorry.

Good choice. Only problem which is common to the vRS is a coilpack failure in the early ones. I had all 4 replaced as a matter of course. Other than that the usual Octy lookouts apply.

Or there is always the Cupra R !!!

Depends if you have the extra wedge I guess.

Hello Ste

Welcome to Briskoda:) I would think there would be quite a difference between the two(apart from the obvious gearbox) .

The vrs is very "tunable" so why not get yourself a test drive and see how it feels? I am guessing but i think you will be won over:)
