By the sounds of it that is a generic remap........you could try JKM they are in Portsmouth ...not too far away and I am sure a few people on here will give then the thumbs up for service

Depends what you want, there are remaps & there are remaps, all generally will give more performance but some will give more than others. IMO the top dogs are Jabba, I live in Winchester but its worth the trip, they seem to get great performance + increased economy & are also very careful not to push the torque too far, thats far to easy to do on a diesel & whilst you get a great oomph from the car its not long before the clutch screams enough. They mapped our Octy 110 over 100,000 miles ago, it reached 164 bhp yet is still running the std clutch now. A map should also leave you with a smooth running car, the peaky ones that give you a great kick are also giving all the mechanicals a great kick & that can only shorten there life

Whoever you use I would strongly recomend using a company who use a rolling road, firstly you get a before & after figure but more importantly it will check if everything else on the car is working properly, your 110 might only be 90 due to a couple of silly faults so with a plug & go you will see an increase but you will never realise the cars full potential.

Thanks for this, I'll contact Jabba as I can get to Winchester easily. I want to improve the power/fuel economy and make the engine run smoother but I don't want to go OTT and risk wrecking the engine so I am looking for someone who can offer a sensible remap whilst ensuring the existing mechanicals can cope with the increase in performance.

Jabba can do mail serivce but it would only be a generic map.

Thanks for that I have emailed Jabba, I think I'd prefer to take the car to them to make sure everything is set up just right and thus lessen any risk of damage to parts that may not be up to the job.

The car is a 52 plate 2003 (probably manufactured in 2002 it was registered in Jan 2003) so I am hoping no additional chips are needed, also I had the ECU replaced a couple of years ago when I still had a warranty and my dealer was trying to rectify a power loss problem so hopefully it's fairly up to date and would just need the remap.

I would agree taking the car there is the best way. The dealer should have replaced the ECU like for like but either way Jabba will read the code & do a few other checks before they start.

Yeah I've decided as far as I will take the car to them and they are not to far away (about a couple of hours drive). Plus taking personal recommendation is always good and that's what I was looking for when I placed this post I'd rather go out of my way and know I'm going to get a good job done and good service from a reputable and recommended outfit as opposed to risk saving a few quid and end up with a whole raft of problems.

I have contacted more-bhp.com and the guy I've been emailing (Jason) is very helpful and offered a way where I could send the ECU to him and he would re-map and return the same day for half the cost of taking the car to them to be done but as they are based in the NorthWest taking the car to them isn't an option and I have concerns about removing the ECU myself and shipping it to them,

a, removing the ECU and risking damaging it and......

b, it not making it there or back and going missing, not a prospect I would relish.
