Just realised my new Octy (4 weeks old) doesn't do the courtesy wipe after washing the screen, you just get 4 wipes and thats it. Must admit it was a pain on my old Octy ii, always smearing. Anyway just thought I'd mention it as I haven't seen it talked about on here, but then I am blind !

think your self lucky- it's bug the life out of me, especially in winter when there is lots of salt on the roads - the courtesy wipe just smears the window again.

The courtesy wipe can be dealt with via vag-com if required.

Didnt know that could be turned off. Ill have to get you to sort that for me Stu because it drives me kin made.

its not turned on on mine so the dealer who had it before me must have turned it off. would be interested to know the controller in vag-com too stu

Hmm it some times does it on mine, and some times it doesn't. I just put it down to the rain sensitve wipers!?!

Just have a look through what's in the comfort options.

its does if you are doing over 120kph

not noticed it (120kph is about 70mph to those not imperialised/metricated)

Mine seems to do the extra wipe at all speeds, despite what it says in the manual.

What would a $dealer charge to switch this function off?

I'm not particularly bothered about a 'courtesy wipe' but one good feature I have noticed is that if the wipers are on at normal speed and you stop for any reason, they then go to 'intermittent' and revert to 'normal' when you start moving again. Quite neat.
