Hi all, newbie with questions!!

Featured Replies

hi all, just wondering if anybody has any general running cost details for a 1.4 Fabia..?

My girlfriend is looking at one and I'm wondering if it will be cheaper to run that her current Corolla...

Probable MPG, Service costs and intervals would be fantastic - thanks!

Dave.

Scooby Owner (but likes the Octavia vRS!!)

There are two 1.4 Fabia engines - an 8v and a 16v. The 8v one usually has "1.4 MPi" on the badge, while the 16v one has "1.4 16v" and develops about 100bhp rather than 60something...any idea which one she was looking at?

Rob.

I think the mpi is dicontinued Rob. It has been replaced by two 1.2 fsi engine.

Welcome MrDBM by the way.

I think the mpi is dicontinued Rob.

But there will be a fair few second-hand ones out there... :)

Welcome :wavey:

Service intervals can be either fixed (10k) or variable IIRC

Costs for the cheapy will be about

For the 16v I average 40 odd mpg, which is a mix of erm, 'rapid' and 'normal' driving :)

If you take it easy on the throttle you can get better mpg though...

ps. Skodaguy - if you read this, hi - hope the move went well - dg.

Hi, MrDBM! Quite a few of our vRS owners like the Scooby and have owned one but have crossed over to Skoda for lower motoring bills. :)
