I had to get a custom bracket fabricated at the time, well worth it though :D

I'm too lazy and/or unpractical to mess around with it. I just want to park up at Forge, sit on my bum for a while drinking coffee or being shown around the workshop then sit back in my car with added sumpguard and drive off. :D

Certainly hope Forge can sort this out, it would certainly ease any worries about quality in my eyes.

as long as it's not over-priced :)

anyone have any idea of cost as yet...ballpark???

Some patience is required with this, I feel. There's a long way to go, in terms of measurement and fitment, as well as materials choice, fixings etc.

If you've not done already, and wish to whet your appetite as it were, look through the GB thread for the original lot of guards here. Estimated, as well as final pricing is mentioned.

The final price didn't turn out to be

Think this is the important bit from the original thread;

'Just to keep the price and people in the group buy so far,

Things will start to move a little quicker after the weekend. I am not at work all week so should be able to get this moving a little quicker.

Will keep posting with updates. ;)

my impatiance as always!!! 230 is still a good price, a mod well worth doing.

excellent...

hi skud -

hope you dont mind me for asking , but what would you need a sump guard for on a fabia - they are usually fitted to 4x4s for off road use -

Definitely worthwhile - I unintentionally put mine to use up a particularly bumpy Irish road, and the Fabia wasn't lowered! I dread to think of the damage if the sump guard had not been fitted...

I know this is going to take some time to sort out - but is there any news:)

No news so far, sorry.

still waiting for a day when i am free to go to the workshop so they can take some measurements for a front bracket.

I think weve also hit another problem as i am not entirely sure the small t20 screws will be strong enough to hold an alloy plate in place. Have been looking into some m8 box nuts but this would mean some modifications to the subframe

Id also be fair interesed but i run a forge fmic so it would have to fit around that, for me to get one.

Based on the fact that the undertray I had from Josh' GB at the time has shredded the small screws, I would say you need something a LOT stronger ;)

If Forge is making one up - I would deffo be interested - no worries that the quality would be excellent and would be one solid piece of kit.

I remember admiring the welds on the FMIC - would take me years to get to that level of welding, still at the 'gorilla weld level' (ugly but strong) only one level above the 'chicken ****' level (self explanatory)...

Taken from another thread

The sump guard is nearly finished Just needs the bracket powder coating green, and then refitting to my car to make sure it fits perfectly before the first batch can be made.

john

Also could my name be taken off as I now have one

Cheers
