I have been wanting one of these for agers and from the other threads interest is high, so yesterday i visisted a local fabicator to price up one.

He said he would only make some if the numbers were high enough.

So Who would be interested in a sump guard, with a price around the 150-200 mark?

If this does go ahead i think it would also be a good idea to use a standard fabia vrs (mine) and someone else with a Forge FMIC (any willing volunteers) for measuring purposes.

Wonder if there is any way of putting up a diagram with measurements, for those who might want to make their own....

or a pic of one to get a rough idea??

Cheers

I would, but would need a month or so to get the money together.

Might be worth asking for a copy of the drawings for future reference ;)

Does anybody know the name of the company who did the last lot of sump guards?

I think it was Josh that sorted that group buy. I am sure he would have some info.

Definately...bout time someone did something, i asked around but dont know anyone! please let me know if this goes ahead.

hi skud -

hope you dont mind me for asking , but what would you need a sump guard for on a fabia - they are usually fitted to 4x4s for off road use -

Enables lowering the car lower than 25mm without risking engine damage.

I'd definitely be interested, does anyone know if one made for a car with a Forge FMIC would fit a car without one, I'm planning the FMIC as a future mod.

Thing is a set of tech drawings would allow one to shop about for the best price, and also allow those of us far away from the UK to get one fabbed locally, or fabricate it ourselves...

Lowered car + big speedbumps = one unhappy sump. Sounds like a good idea for any lowered road vehicle tbh.

The company Josh used was KLM Engineering

Original GB thread here; you'll see from the last thread that attempts to whip up interest have been made before ;)

Steve

Well worth it if you are lowered.

Absolutely, :iagree: - you only have to look at a thread like this to be convinced.

Steve

I know I need one after that hedgehog didn't fit under my car

I'm interested, and have a Forge FMIC fitted ;)

very interested!

Is this going to happen? I REALLY hope so!!!!!!! Come on people you all know you want and need one!

Very interested as well. As long as the price is right as they say

im one of the ones who is interested in a d.gram of the thing because i dont see myself having enough money at the moment for this but might be able to get one here cheap

My car should be at Bengie's fairly soon, and it will have a few bits removed to get to the damaged sections more easily. I would imagine the sump guard will come off at that point, and if I can find enough time etc I will try to take photos and measurements and post them up here.

Cant find my digi cam at the moment though, and I wont be able to look for it until Saturday (when I return to the UK), so give it a bit of time ;)

Thanks mate, a very very kind person has offered to let me take some measurments of his sump guard which is one of the original buy ones.

Once ive got the measurements ill be back at the engineering works and hopefully we can get this going

would be happy to quote on this .....fabrications our game you know !would liketo see an original or a drawing ...i am sure we can make to fit a Forge fmic as well

I think it would be an ideal project for the company to take on in the absence of the originators.

This was the reason I didnt pursue the original sump guard group buys as I think people with Forge FMIC's had problems mounting it.

I had to get a custom bracket fabricated at the time, well worth it though :D
