Furby Vrs Gearboxes

Featured Replies

Hi all, i was told today the gearbox on the vrs usually goes pop at about 60k! has anyone else heard this or had this happen???? mines now at 53k so little worried!

Thanks all:confused:

In short - nope, they are solid :)

Never replaced one on a vRS.

Maybe you got mixed up with the clutch?

it may all depend on how much abuse you give it , slamming through the gears , racing starts etc won't do it any favours , but as has been said above , the clutch will usually go first plus maybe the flywheel with excessive abuse

Had mine replaced at 40k.... but to be fair, it was because the casing was damaged... the internals were all fine :)

Well fingers crossed it lasts the "spirited" run to CZ and back ;) after that im not sure whats happening, depends how my circumstances pan out in the next couple of months

Just do a gearbox oil change around the 50-60k mark if you fancy some piece of mind.

I got a 100bhp model I know its not same box as VRs but I have had new flywheel, clutch & the box has just been rebuilt last week at 72k thank god it was warrantied.
