Please forgive me if this question has been asked a million times but just how fast is my standard 02 Octy Vrs??. I've had 140mph, and it was still pulling, a copper who stopped me last week reckons the speedo reads 'slow'.Is this just bulls***.

Your 140 mph was nearer to 135 or slightly less. "Official" top speed is 146 mph.

well before i had my Octy vRS re-mapped,its a sept '03 model i had a 145mph on the clock and it still had some left so i reckon they do under read.

Comparing with GPS confirms an over-read.

I believe its illegal for a speedo to report a lower speed than you are actually doing, for obvious reasons.

Speedo says 30, you're actually doing 35. *Flash* 3 points &

i'm working to hard,what am i saying of course its over reading otherwise it'll would top out and be reading a stupidily low speed and i'd be ****** off and be moaning about it on this site!!!!!

I think the faster you go, the greater the error gets, at 80mph indicated I reckon thats pretty close to a true 70mph. Dont try this though and blame me for the 3 points.

The difference from Speedo to GPS on mine is 2-3 mph up to about 50, and 5 - 6 at errmmmm....higher speeds

addsvrs, Do it, its the best bang for buck mod. Makes a real difference. Look in the group buy section for a special deal.

On GPS mine hit 169.8

My RS was faster though :(

what performance are you interested in,i have the boost controller and DV fitted also.

well the difference from standard is very noticable,i love the greater drivability and the grin i get when surprising other cars and myself in the process.

i would recommend Jabba,no question.

if you live 10miles from Peterborough take a trip to Jabba and have a chat with them,they are very helpful and will beable to take you for drive in a re-mapped Octavia.

if not come to the national day and i'll take you out in mine.
