Audi A2

Featured Replies

Anyone got any experience of Audi A2s?

Been looking at them for a wee while. 1.4D is rediculously cheap to run with good mpg and

I had a new one, well two new ones as the first was replaced for being a piece of carp, and the new one had a whole host of different faults. Worst car for issues I've ever owned and the dealer was about as much use a chocolate fire guard.

However that was just my luck in getting two friday afternoon cars. Lots of other people have them without much issue and actually I did love the thing otherwise I wouldn't have bought one in the first place.

The diesel makes a nice noise and is the proverbial poo off a shovel for the size of engine and can shame a few people in the old traffic light grand prix.

No problems with rust as such, but watch for anyone screwing things to the body like a towbar as if they use the wrong fittings the aluminium reacts with other metals and "rusts" for want of a better word.

Plenty of room inside for the size of motor.

Have a look at the A2 owners club - loads of info and help from a good bunch of people.

I'd be buying second hand so hopefully someone else will have spent time sorting the niggles out.

The undertrays have a habit of falling off & with a good deal of important stuff underneath the car it can result in problems. Make sure it's intact and unmarked underneath or it could cost you.

Aside from that they're ok, impressive space inside for such a small car - basically they were a packaging exercise and IMHO a pretty successful one - I have heard they are actually more spacious inside than the A3, though this is heresay so don't quote me.

They look poo though :(
