Sporty Vauxhalls on the way

Vauxhall's VXR expansion - Secret New Cars - Carmagazine.co.uk

Last page is where the most :D :D will be had but Interesting that they are putting out a lot more sporty models in the face of the Enviromenalists, perhaps they realise what quite a few customers actually want. Skoda are going to have to watch their models/pricing carefully or they might find themselves in the wilderness again

Also note how kits are dealer fit to get around type approval, how much could Skoda have made selling a gasket for the Fabia VRS to enhance performance, sorry should I have said sort their design **** up

Ahhh but its a Vauxhall, so it will never me as good as a Volkskodaudi ;)

220bhp Corsas? Are they mad? And what's all this poppycock about fast diesel models? It'll never catch on surely.;)

I want a VXR8.

I want a VXR8.

I want the supercharged one. 543 bhp

Me too :P

a Meriva VXR, Yesterday...

Well, that's me satisfied!

Rob.

I think the Meriva has come a long way since its first iteration, based on the Suzuki Wagon R.

If they do a VXR agila I think it would be almost as good at rolling at the MK I Furball VRS. ::P

I'm shocked I'm even typing this , but Vauxhall are making some decent cars nowadays....

They certainly seem to be listening to their fan base.

Skoda take note

Vauxhall have also taken into consideration (as mentioned in the first post i believe) that their new cars are likely to be upgraded.

So, there are a lot of items that can be bought through Vauxhall themselves, that don't invalidate warranties, AND there are some aftermarket options that are warranty friendly now too - Milltek Exhausts for some of the VXR Models (and the rest) are Vauxhall factory approved, and as such wont invalidate a warranty.

This is something other manufacturers need to take note of IMO,

I really am suprised VAG havent done this, the amount of models that can be upgraded nicely, but with risk of warranty invalidation

No mention of a VX220:(

No mention of a VX220:(

That is because it didnt sell nearly as well as hoped so there are no immediate plans for a replacement.

They have - just not in the UK...

Sounds like they have enough of a problem with warranty claims on standard models!

i must say i like older vx's but until now the newer ones havent really lit my lemon.

but me and the missus went on a vxr track day recently and spent most of the day thrashing them round the truxton circuit!

i drove everything from the corsa to the vxr8, in fact i drove it twice!! the last time me and my girl were the only 2 out on track and the instructors were eggin us on to go faster and have a bit of a race (i won of course ;)) but in all seriousness the whole range is excellent fun to drive! i thought the astra was best but on the road the corsa will be miles ahead in the fun factor. i hope skoda get a fabia vrs out soon to compete!

This isn't a new idea. Dealerships in the US have been pimping their customers cars for a few years. Usually for younger punters who will add the cost of the mods into the finance package. The car comes to the dealer in poverty spec then a specialist team of pimpers swoop and can have the car turned round in a day or two depending on the customer's spec list.

It's all warranty friendly and all the bits can be removed for resale. Now Vauxhall being part of GM, the idea has migrated across the pond. It's a good way of pimping IMO.

The 888 Astra Diesel was a showcase for that sort of thing.

Vauxhall threw all the extras on a limited number of cars and make the various bits and pieces available as extras to those who want it. No idea how successful that has been.

I considered an 888 for a bit but I wasn't going to pay £18k for an Astra of any sort plus it was 3 door only.

Pah. The Homo's...
