just got keys to my new Fabia

Featured Replies

Its a black level 2 with the upgraded level 3 alloys and side strips. the 2 tone dash isnt exactly to my tastes but it does brighten up the insides of the car no end!

ive come from citroen c4 2.0hdi vtr+ and although i will miss the toys from the C4 i already dont miss the build quality. the 1.9TDi is a fantastic engine, im trying to run it in nicely before finding out just how good it is, but for a light car it makes for interesting escapes from the traffic lights.

the noise is ok from cold but gets way way better when crusing and once warmed up. certainly louder than the citroen from cold. havent had chance to see the mpg's yet but i'll see about that over the coming days. just popped my carpet mats in and even the mats are better quality than the citroens ones! lol!

being the new guy at the dealership i guess i get the small car, my work mate has a octavia estate 4x4 2.0TDI and the boss has the octaiva sport 1.8T. but i have to say as i own 2 large vauxhalls im looking forward to driving something a bit smaller and nippier!

anyone else gone for the 1.9tdi? just wondered what other people think of it?

Nice buy.

Not seen a black one yet, get some pics up.

Hello & welcome, :)

Enjoy the car!

thanks!

went to the gym in it last night, must say the projector optics are great at giving out a precise pattern of light. shame they arent HID bulbs but for halogen ligts they are very good imoa. the engine feels so tight though! i cant wait to put some more miles on the clock to loosen the engine up.

cracking little cd player too, nice to have such a big screen to see all the ID3 details on the mp3 CD. but suffers from some door vibration when cranking the volume up (but then what car dosnt?)

the only issue i have is the boot lid is a mare to shut :S but im booking it into the workshps as im sure the locking mech is out of alignment. apart from that the cars great, and already seeing about 60 MPG is blinding too :)

You can tell you've come from a sh1troen as you are just soooo impressed with your little Fabia.

The bootlid on ours needs a hefty slam to shut it properly as well.

If you can get to the October 07 Maidstone meet. I really would like to see it, and maybe ride, as I am thinking that if the new vRS fails expectations, then I will consider a fully loaded L3, and maybe remap to 140.

Look out next week for the thread in meets section.

ive been round our entire furby stock today and they vary quite allot. some just shut first time everytime and others seem to need a good push. mine can bounch open 4 or 5 times before shutting properly :(

saw the last one but couldnt make that, at the white rabbit iirc? i'll certainly try and pop along. i'd love to drop a tuning box in the furby. 140bhp would certainly liven things up!!

Cool car, enjoy it!

Any piccies?

Just got my "new" one as well. Ex-Demo 1.4 TDI 3 with 700 miles on the clock and an awful lot cheaper than a new one (even internet prices)

Very impressed with it all round. Getting just over 50 mpg out of it over my 80 mile commute. I guess the 1.9 is probably more economical in the real world.

I looked at a Citroen C3 (poor rear visibility and flimsy feeling to the interior) and a Citroen C4 (driver's instruments all over the place). The Fabia 3 won hands down (and worked out cheaper).

Just waiting for it to arrive from the factory!

i had a C3 exclusive 1.6hdi with full leather (i say leather but im not sure what type of cheap *** cow it came from lol) it was pushing out a decent 90bhp. but your right with the better build quality it makes the fabia much better. but the MPG i was getting was just silly. nearly 70mpg!! and 35 quid for tax too so it wasnt all bad.

the C4 2.0hdi i had was great once you remembered the rev counter wasnt where the speedo was and the radio display wasnt the AC readout! confusing or what!!

must get teh car clean for the piccys :)

ARRGGHH!!

ive broke it :(

was heading out to look at a 04 plate golf for my girlfriends mum and whilst driving down a country lane downhill, i must have clipped a pot hole, or pinched the tyre against something, cos BANG instant flat tyre at 30 ish MPH!!!

couldnt stop straight away as the decline of the hill meant stopping took a distance. when i did stop it was in total darkness and in the middle of nowhere, late for our chap about the golf :( my and my girlfriend changed to tyre in 2 mins flat and went on our way. the tracking is now out a few degrees and the spare tyre whines away if you even approach 50mph!

so this morning i limp to work, and they tell me the tyre AND the wheel are both dead! so im being religated into a 1.2HTP fabia until they get a new wheel and tyre on :(

but on the bright side the golf was brill, a 1.9TDi too and shes decided to buy it, so it wasnt all bad after all. one less ford driver on the planet LOL!!

sorry to hear about that mate, hope you get everything sorted soon and enjoy your car

thanks chap, me too. the little 1.2 is great fun but a bit gutless compared to the 1.9tdi. im getting ribbed from everyone at work over the incident :) oh how fun can work mates be!!

Driven the 1.2 in a ibiza mate and know what your on about, do you find it noisy???

  • Author

yes, when pushed up the rev range it is quite noisey. made me smile the first couple of times but then its a tad anoying after a while. i'll eb up and down the motorway too tonight so i hope it cant handle it! lol

well my luck with the fabia just got worse :(

first off its not the cars fault. got in this morning to find the guy that does our vinyl working on my fabia. becuase its still waiting on a wheel from skoda i left it here over night. so in the meantime its been scheduled for a load of company graphics to go on!

i dont like graphics on cars full stop, so you can imagine when i saw them putting loads on i was not best pleased! especially when i was told nothing about it! im seriously thinking about handing the keys in and sticking to my own car from now on, which is a shame as i really like the fabia and its mpgs:). i'll post some pics up when done to show guys to get some opinions from you.
