I have owned a mk 1 Octavia for 5 years and have now decided it's time for a change. I would loved to have upgraded to the new octavia vrs but was disillusioned with the trade in price offered by Delmore Cars Inverness.

My car is a 52 plate diamond silver with only 35000 miles full service history and in good condition, how much did they offer me? £4150 against a brand new Vrs. Nearly fell over.

The ford garage along the road offered me £6400 against a new ST. Ok they maybe have a bit more profit on there cars but by using ford credit they are also giving me another £1000 towards my deposit, an offer i couldn't refuse.

I would just like to say thanks to every one in this forum, it has saved me a lot of time and money in solving problems with my Occty.

Cheers

It sounds like a good deal on paper, but I can guarantee you will miss the Octavia.

Oh i know i'll miss it, it's been the best car i've ever had.

Hey, and don't go disappearing now :thumbdwn:

Diversity is what it's all about.

Good luck with your motor (jammy g*t  ).

Sounds like an excellent deal - which ST did you go for? :D

Chris

The only thing you'll miss will be the size of the boot and the relatively good fuel economy :P

Hi, I,ve got an ST2 on order with parking sensors and blue tooth in moondust silver. Had to go for a 5 door because off the kids although i prefer the look off the 3 door.

Should get it next week but time is standing still.:D

My Sister in Law travelled from Thurso to Hampshire to buy a Skoda. Ok partly because I managed to get her a cracking deal but also partly because of the silly prices at the dealers in Inverness.

I had heard on the radio about the 1k deposit contribution for the ST. Certainly should soften the blow a little.

I always thought the ST models were in demand.

To be offering such a cracking deal, they must be struggling. If it's a daggenham ford dealership, all I can say from exp on servicing my works van - USE ANOTHER DEALER for servicing!

30 miles away was my nearest NON-dag dealer, and boy is it worth it!

I heard Ford a so screwed at the moment they can't give give 'em away!

Well the £1K should pay for fuel in the first couple of weeks

Well Done. The ST should be a very nice change. My MK1 vRS was the best car I owned and I do still miss it even after getting a mazda6 MPS, but truth be told, If I went back and drove a MK 1 now, I would probably spoil the memories that I have.
