New VRS Arrived... First Impressions

Featured Replies

THANKYOU :D

and before the flaming begins... any ideas on this noise? :)

possibly glovebox cover, try driving with it open to determine

Yep, hate them all.

Anything that batters your car repeatedly whilst traversing it's length and spinning round is going to damage paintwork.

like she's bothered about a clean motor, it's not the car that impresses them, that's meant to be you !! lol :)

Ahh... quite funny my girlfriend... she was impressed by the clean car... and erm, other stuff... anyway.

Car booked in tomorrow... couple of annoying things that I can't fix without maxidot... goddamit - like the doors locking themselves when I go over ten MPH.

Let you know what they find

much as I don't want to help someone who bought an import from motorpo.... no I can't even say it......maybe the rattle is the passenger seat belt buckle knocking on the b-post, I know Octavias have this habbit if the top mount on the seat belt isn't at it's highest setting!

Right update... car in at Alex Lawrie.

Cheeky sod said I should take it back to Malta and get a refund :D

He thinks it might be the exhaust knocking under the chasis... or possibly a gearbox linkage.

Top marks for professionalism though

Robbo, I had an irritating noise coming from the passenger side once (well I thougt it came from the passengers side) it was actually my sunglasses in the the holder ubove your head. I would get the gap looked at by skoda, you shouldnt have any gaps.

I had an iritating noise coming from the passenger side once aswell, that was the last time my missus came in my car

Right

The annoying noise was in fact comming from under the car... the heat shield for the exhaust.

Dropped it off at 10... had her back by 1 :D

Probably untrue though :D

I won't ask for evidence to prove it, we'll leave it at that lol

So was the dealer a little funny because the car is an import? Whats the problem they are from the same factory, just gone to different corners of the world. :)

Dealer was absoloutly fine even though it was an import... though when I took it back for the second time in two days (the first being to have the daylight running lights switched off) the cheeky sod said "ah, shoulda left it in Malta" ;)

Probably meant you should personally take it back to Malta :P

Good you've got it sorted

At least they sorted it which is exactly how it should be. My wife had an imported 206 a few years back and the local Pug dealer was shocking. They didn't want the warranty works and I'm sure they were difficult on purpose to stop us bringing it back and to get on our nerves.

I ended up complaining in person and writing to the dealer principle to get resolution. Surely its no different to buying the car from a different UK dealer in that the profit still went to someone else!

Exactly what was their problem, did they not think of the 'bigger picture'? Person has bought a car - which keeps the manufacturer in business, behaving like that will lose sales when replacement time comes owing to bad experiences. Sometimes I wonder if have brains or any foresight.
