possible pieburg maf problem?

Featured Replies

ok. story so far.i thought sunday my clutch was going so i got the AA out. he also thought from listening to it it was either the clutch or the clutch release bearing. today the engine management light came on which got me thinking. why would the engine management light come on if the clutch was acting up? on thursday i put the Pierbug maf in, saturdy it started making funny noises culminating in sunday sounded like a bag of nails. anyhow i put the old maf back in and after several stops and starts the light as gone out. could it be the pierburg maf that was causing my problems? could i have put it in the wrong way around? anybody any clues? by the way it's quietened down as well since i swopped the maf back.

Tom.

Tom , why did you do the MAF change in the first place?

I cant see why the MAF would cause any abnormal engine noises.

You say your MAF is a Pierburg item, im sure the one I got was Bosch, will check tomorrow.
