Knocking suspension

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a W reg Fabia 1.4 16v comfort. Just lately I have noticed a knocking noise coming from what I assume is the suspension as it only occurs on bumps (mild bumps upwards) and is irregular. The car has done 45k and I recently had somebody look underneath and check that there was nothing loose there.

Has anyone had a similar problem or heard of this before?

Many thanks,

Nick

Nick,

Firstly - welcome to the site :)

On my 1.4 16v, I did notice a funny noise from the front suspension when going over speed bumps (although I did have a pasenger at the time). Took it to the dealer to get it checked, but they couldn't see anything wrong... I take it you haven't changed anything else on the car lately that could be at fault? :)

Could this be the answer, Nick? And welcome to Briskoda! :D

most probably the anti-roll bar link rod/s

Straightforward and not too expensive to fix, K?

yep 2 both

Looking at ETKA, are the parts involved the connecting links which go from the front shock absorbers to the stabiliser? (PN 6Q0 411 315 C or F, depending on chassis number, at

I'd go for the same option as Big K - Anti roll bar end links... Ours has just started with what is probably a similar noise (at 70,000mls) and it sounds identical to the noise I had once on a mitsubishi that was the roll bar end links!

This type of noise happened to my old Tdi Fabia at 65,000 miles, 70 quid and half a day at the dealer later all cured, same 'anti-roll' bar links was on the paperwork

Many thanks for all your responses. I have done nothing to the car that may have had an impact on the suspension at all. I think I'll give the dealer a quick call to see if they will have a look at it.
