Favorit Tire Size

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

12,000 miles ago i had some front tires put on my Kwik Fit, The size they put on was

165 70R 13 (these went on the front)

when i searched on Kwik Fit website due to me looking at getting them replaced,

i put in my Favorit registration plate and the size they reccommend is 175 70T 13

which one should i go for ???????what i already got or the reccommended one from their website?,

what do you guys have on your Favorits ???

(p.s. there standard wheels, no alloys etc)

:) The original tyres from new were 165/70/13. Wider tyres will be fine on the front but if I remember correctly the rear tyres run fairly close to the wheelarches. It might be worth measuring up before buying the wider tyres.

they are for the front, back are fine, what does the letter after the " 70 " mean ?????

As far as I know the letter is a speed rating, see Speed Rating

for more info, but that may be the letter at the end not the R/T you refer to.

you are right Graham, its the speed rating. i tend to run an original size, 165/70R. kwikfit might just be offering you what they have commonly available, but i certainly wouldn't follow their advice on anything tbh.

well i have got 165 70R on now which have been fine. I only put budget ones on because of living in west wales the roads are so twisty it burns tires alot quicker

Got 185 x 60 x 13's on my shopper estate plus it's lowered by 35mm !
