Well that sounds like it'll cost insurance companies a fortune.

Guess we can expect another rise in premiums then eh?

Good.

I declare all my mods and if you don't you are essentially being fraudulant and driving wthout insurance.

just insure with LV:rolleyes:

then it doesnt matter...

Hi guys, just thought i would infom you that i work for toad and that i carry out these inspections and to put your minds at rest i will tell you that it is only done primarily to check that the car is tax`d,mot`d and to check the condition of the cars bodywork, interior, glass and tires to make sure that your not insuring a damaged car and then claiming for it once your insured and as for the extras you have i can tell you that all that is checked is if it has alloys, leather, tow bar, security, audio etc, there is no section stating that we have to check for engine mods so unless anything changes then i would think your ok but then again its always best to declare any mods no matter how small or insignificant they may seem because the last thing you want is for you to write your car off and then to be told by your insurer that your policy is void and that you wont get paid out

does it matter to you anyway? surely all the stuff youve taken out the car cancels out the stuff youve put on?

This shouldn't concern anyone who notifies their insurer of all material facts relating to their insurance. QED.

condition of the cars bodywork, interior, glass and tires

...window tints...

Steve

Can't see this being the case and certainly haven't heard anything about it from the Lloyd's Motor Insurers (Admiral, Elephant, Gemini, Eclipse, Summit, Red Star , Highway etc). Personally I think it would be too much administration , costs would spiral and it also wouldn't stop someone altering the car to take off mods for the "test" and then putting them back on. The way I can see it going is that the insurers start getting stronger on rejecting claims for undislosed mods - which still doesn't harm anyone that has a policy that allows mods or who honestly discloses what they have got. :)

Hi steve just thought i would say that tints aren`t mentioned on the form, its just the condition of the screen and weather its chipped or cracked.

That's great news, maybe we'll get less ar5eholes sticking big fat exhausts on Cavaliers and thinking they can drive really quick .... ;)
