Quote on an Octavia vRS tdi Estate

Featured Replies

Good Morning/Afternoon,

I currently have a Fabia vRS, which I'm changing for an estate car, as I'm about to become a dad in 4 weeks time.

I was originally swung by an Audi (but they don't haggle on price) So I have come back to Skoda (This will be my 3rd, potentially)

I've had a price on an Octavia vRS Tdi Estate in Black Magic of £20,799.99 (With the following options)

Free options (18" Wheels, Electric rear windows, Dual Zone, Jumbo Box)

Additional options Acoustic Rear Parking, Maxidot, Sunroof, Paint, Sunset Glass, Leather Interior and Xenons.

Firstly does this seem a fair price? Do you think I should be pushing for a bit more discount before agreeing?

Thanks in advance

Wow - thats a pretty well specced car!

I get the Drive the Deal price to be £19,882 but that doesn't give me the option to add leather, which I suspect would put the price close to (and quite possibly above) what you have been quoted.

However, DTD doesn't seem to be giving the free options - without those the price is £19,099, which makes your look more expensive, even with the leather added in. I guess you would need to contact them to confirm.

With regard to the leather, a lot of members on here have used Seat Surgeons in York for a customised leather re-trim - at quite a saving on dealer prices.

i'd say that was good, i make that a saving of about 765 quid and thats before the leather interior!

Thanks for the reply! I've been on DTD and there's not much in it TBH (adding in the leather) and it is a bit baffling as to why there is a cost against the 'Free' items!

Seat surgeons might be an option as they're only 30 miles away, are they doing leather for the Octavia MK2 yet? if so has anyone used them and got a picture they can post up of there interior?

Well specced, I went a bit crazy, but hopefully i'll have it for a while!

My dealer offered me £1500 off new price without any haggling. I haggled for a further £165, full tank of diesel and rear boot mat...plus the equipment upgrade (that finished yesterday I believe, unless its been extended?)..so all in, you've got some way to go yet!

Just checked Skoda's website - there's now no mention of the expiry date for the free equipment upgrade! :)

If you take the chargeable options off, the OTR price is £17,255 versus a recommended £19,420 OTR = £2,165 discount. The options kick the **** out of the price because there are so many to have......£3545 spent on options!

Seems I have more to learn re my haggling skills.... Way to go! Is this on a factory build? Do you know about the possible/likely new common rail deisel engine due Feb/March?

I've signed on the dotted line for a new mark II Vrs Estate petrol. Thats in black magic, with the free options and the sunset glass. Total price 19.1k. take into account i got £900 above quoted list on trade in and I'm a happy bunny, except it won't be in the country until November!!!
