A Mondeoman!

Dont worry folks, the Octy's still around. New firm give me the Mondy (no idea trim version - but TDCI that shifts!), and Octy's my weekend fun :D

So Mondy folks, what do I need to know bout these F.O.R.D thingies, besides missing all my creature comforts from the Octy - yet still miles better than a Dispair van!!!!

could you not got the money instead ;)

Nah.

BUT, one of the engineers has a 4x4 Octy which apparently they're now bored of and want a Mondy instead.

I feel a swap coming on ;)

- but TDCI thats ****!)!

Sounds like he enjoys driving then ;)

I never cease to be amazed at Skoda owners being snobbish about Fords

Try driving it first, you may be surprised.

Get it right, Nick. Its not really a Skoda its a Volkskodaudi - they just put the wrong badge on  :P

Says the mam who's household owns 3 Vauxhalls!

I'd keep the mondy over a 4x4 especially if you already have a skoda.

The Mondeo is actually quite a comfy car to be in, so enjoy. Trim level will be on the back, if blank and you have wheel trims, its an LX.

I suspect that may depend who is behind the wheel!

True, plus mines not very quick, so the leather and climate make for an expensive, comfy place to be. :)

Just says TDCI and yes has trims. The suspension is so sloppy. Maybe I'm just too used to my Octy's sports suspension.

Considering how many Vauxhalls and Fords are sold, I'm amazed at what you pay for so little. Then there's the hideous cabins they put in them.

That's my issue with those makes.

Based on 4 days, and 8hrs of driving so far:

The engine is great. Cruise is a little strange to operate (seems to work when it wants to). Whilst is has a surprisingly good spec, the cabin is pretty uninspiring IMO.

Seats arent as comfy as my octy, but are still quite good and supportive.

To operate the cruise, you have to turn it on first, then press Set, it confused me at first as well. My Fabia was just keep it on all the time and just press Set when ready.

My and ScoobyChris's Mondeo's were really good value for the kit you get, I paid £4.5k for a Ghia X with all the leather, cost about £23k new though. So yes, new they aren't a good deal but secondhand they are good. Though, have a look at the prices you can get a new Mondeo for now, quite cheap actually considering the size and spec.
