Fabia MPI - Poor MPG

Featured Replies

MAP sensor is £54.71 on Eurocarparts branded VDO. As the injection system on the 1.4mpi is made by Siemens I am guessing this is the same as the OE part. I have decided I shall give replacing this part a go in the hope of better mpg and improved starting when warm (even though no faults recorded by ECU), will check current price at dealers soon.

I have the 1.4 16v 100hp fabia, seems to return 42-45 on a 60 mile round trip, town, country and 70's!! But i pay more for it on ins and tax so probably evens itself out :(

I replaced the MAP on my father's 1.4 MPI (W Reg), as he was getting very low MPG and awful performance, I managed to find a brand new MAP on eBay for £19.99, Item: 330330539660. Works fine and the car is back to how it felt when it was first purchased four years ago!

Just changed mine for a genuine one found on ebay manufactured 2007 (5 years newer than the original). Found the old one had a little oily deposits on it. Time will tell if MPG benefits or not (or if the car starts as not tried that yet, lol).
