Scottpcs , they look very neat on the rear .

The rear flaps on yours , are they the original Skoda dealer ones ? when i went in for mine the guy tried a set of the rear ones up against the rear arch and he said they wouldnt fit ?

bahnstormer vrs , i still like the rally look ones on yours , the red car / flaps sets it off well

AFAIK yes, they are original Skoda dealer flaps. I'm pretty sure that the front flaps fit all Octys anyway, including the vRS. Aparently it's just the rear flaps that aren't designed to fit the vRS due to the rear bumper.

By default the rear flaps won't fit the vRS but I honestly don't know what the dealer did to make them fit! They look good as though :)

Might be a long shot but has anyone out there got the Rallyflaps fitted but in black. I can only find pictures of cars with matching colours of paint and mud flaps. I hope some one might have the black ones fitted but not on a black car. Any help much appreciated.

I'm definately going to get a set of skoda mudflaps, £31 for the set. The dealer says that they need to be cut/trimmed to make it a good fit. Is this right? Also has anyone experienced any problems with the official mud flaps, grounding out etc... Thanks in advance for your replies.

No problems with mine so far (I have the Skoda originals for front and rear - rear made to fit) & I have the 18" wheels which a few people have had concerns about. More clearance than you'd think actually with the bigger wheels.

Been thinking of sorting some mudfalps out for mine lately, it would be nice to get the front and rears sorted but the fronts are the ones that will at least protect the paintwork from the driven wheel debris.

Also, how would the 18's have more clearance issues with flaps fitted?

Surely the circumferance of the tyre is pretty much identicle for the 18's as it is for the 17's with the taller sidewalls?!

I posted this thread when i bought the rallyflapz earlier this year.

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/new-octavia/rallyflapz-black-vrs-estate/81357/

The story was the same, there a bit like Marmite, you love them or you hate them.

Mine were bought out of necesity due to where i live and the really work at stopping the crap going up the side and back of the car (especially with the weather we have had this year) and i think they suit my car.

I have a mate who has the factory fit ones on an octavia and they dont work any where near as well.

Thanks for that mate. I can remember reading that thread now. I still can't decide which flaps to have. The roads I drive on can be quite muddy, so the rally flaps would be useful.

Go for the RallyFapZ ....... You know it makes sense. ;)

noooooooo!!! Don't do it!!!!!

Arrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh....

I can't decide. I like the look of the Skoda ones, but I don't dislike the Rallyflaps enough to rule them out. Some thinking to be done.

I would agree that the rallyflapz keep the muck out better than the standard Skoda ones but personally I couldn't live with the way they look!

My own opinion, for what it's worth, is that the Skoda flaps strike a compromise between looking smart and doing their job. The rallyflapz look too extreme and out of place for my liking!

The decision, as they say, is yours.....

I have only got the front flaps on , i would seriously think of fitting the rally ones , even if just for the bad weather to protect the paint a bit .

After all , you can take them off / put them on when it suits you , for the sake of a few months bad weather i,d get the rally ones lol

Yuk!

For me, there are 2 issues with the RallyFlapz. The first is that colour coding to that extent is not my thing, the second is that the flaps themselves look a little plain. Can't Performance Creations put their logo or something on them in black to break up the large plastic-looking surface area?? (I presume using hte vRS logo is copyright infringement).

Another point is that if the RallyFlapz have a custom rear bracket, has anyone tried to fit Skoda rear mud flaps using this bracket?

DEMON-TWEEKS did some "SPARCO" rally ones in their last mag , think i saw some in Halforrds too

i have some blue ones for my fabia, not going to fit them till i get my new wheels on,may not fit them at all,i just can't decide either:D

Hi

I get my new Black VRS TDI on Tuesday .

I quite like the look of the RallyFlapz they look good on the estate on the earlier thread . They appear to blend into the car if you know what i mean. So i may well get some but I think I should get the car before buying goodies for it.

The set from Performance Creations comes with four 'vRS' logos on a strip each about 6" long; I hadn't got them fitted at the time I took my photos, but have now on my rear flaps.

I bought myself a set of front flaps for my VRS on Friday & they win the award for being the easiest set I have ever fitted to a car (& I've fitted a few & sworn a lot more than once !!!)

Firstly why are all cars not like the VRS...easifit ! & secondly....do the rears fit or not (there seems to be a lot of different opinions)...the parts man offered them to me...but wasn't sure if they fitted & suggested that the aftermarket ones were better anyway...I didn't take them, but I am tempted if all that's needed is a wee tweak to make them fit.

Already I am seeing the benefits of the fronts...no mud up the windows !!!

..... & secondly....do the rears fit or not (there seems to be a lot of different opinions)...

Officially they don't; in practice they will.

It is all due to the vRS bumper being slightly different (deeper) to the ordinary one. They need to be moulded to the right shape to fit, a hair dryer will do fine for this.
